Gokurakuji Temple is located on Penang Island in Malaysia.
The illumination during CNY (Chinese New Year) is a spectacular sight!
*It may not be lit up outside of the CNY period.
If anything, it has a more solemn feel during the day, and an amusement-like feel during the lit-up hours.
There is little shade during the day and it is hot, but at night there is a lot of breeze and it is cool.
How to get there:
Use a ride-hailing app (Grab) or bus to get to the site, and walk or take the cable car to the top.
