When I visited in December 2024, Jagalchi Market had been renovated!
The tatami seating on the second floor was gone, and all the seats were replaced with table seats💡
The aisles have been widened, and it is now easy to place strollers and wheelchairs next to the seats👍
As before, the sea spreads out beyond the windows♪
The current Jagalchi Market began as a collection of places where seafood was traded at outdoor stalls during the poverty of the Korean War.
Nampo-dong is the number one tourist spot in central Busan.
Among them, it is a place that you must visit and feel the local vitality.
It is divided into an outdoor traditional market and a modern market inside a building, and of course there are dried fish and fresh live fish, but when you go inside, you can see large abalone, crabs, and sea urchins. Look to the side and you will see scallops, clams, and oysters.
Rare items such as yumushi, which tastes like ark shellfish, and rare sea squirts are lined up in a small space.
The fish tanks are arranged to be easily seen by the customers, so it's like an aquarium⭐️
My kids were excited to point at them😊
Price negotiation is required, but if you decide on an amount and say something like "Please recommend something for 30,000 won," they will choose according to the number of people and your preferences👍
It costs W5000 per person for a seat, but you can buy on the first floor and have it cooked on the second floor.
The cooking fee is W5000.
The elevator is spacious enough for a stroller.
The toilets are also clean✨
It's not well known, but if you leave the Jagalchi Market building on the sea side, there is a fishing boat dock, and you can see the ocean view that is truly Busan!♪
It's also fun to take a walk while looking at the bustling sea.
People who were fishing showed the fish to the kids and we were able to interact with them😊
