Ang Kaew, CMU - A chill corner for Chiang Mai people :)

If you are looking for a place to breathe fresh air and relax your mind from work or study, “Ang Kaew” in Chiang Mai University is the answer. This place is open 24 hours. But if you come from 06.00-20.00, it will be the most comfortable because there are lights to illuminate the way and there are security guards to look after your safety.

- Jogging/walking around the reservoir for about 2.4 km, the mountain view and water surface are very enjoyable.

- Spread a picnic mat, sit and chat, read a book or listen to chill music under the big champa tree.

- Take beautiful photos during the Golden Hour at 07.00 and 17.30. The light is very soft. The shadow of Doi Suthep reflects on the water perfectly.

How to get here:

🚗 Private car, free parking next to the reservoir (Science Gate) or around it. But on big events, parking spaces will fill up quickly.

🚕 Red car/Grab, tell them “Go to Ang Kaew, CMU.”

🛴 Electric scooter/bicycle, ride from Nimmanhaemin It's also fun to come here.

Come in the morning to run and catch the first sun or in the evening to sit and enjoy the breeze and watch the sunset. Ang Kaew is always ready to recharge your spirits. Come and try it, you'll love it too. 💚
