A Day of Scenery and Flavors: A Trip to Chuncheon

The phrase "Train to Chuncheon" carries a certain excitement. After about an hour and a half from Seoul, you arrive at a picturesque place filled with mountains, rivers, and warm, comforting food—Chuncheon.

🏞 Soyang River Cable Car – A Skywalk Experience

The journey begins with the Soyang River Cable Car. With a transparent floor revealing the flowing river below and a view of Nami Island and Uiam Lake in the distance, it felt like walking in the sky.

"Was Chuncheon always this beautiful?" I murmured to myself, silently soaking in the scenery.

🍜 Chogyeguksu – A Cool Summer Treat

After descending from the cable car, I felt thirsty. Perfect timing to find a Chogyeguksu restaurant. A bowl of tangy broth with chicken and floating ice chunks was served. With the first bite, I couldn’t help but exclaim, "Ah, this is life!" Instantly refreshed, I realized, "Chuncheon isn’t just about dakgalbi!"

🍞 Potato Bread – A Bite of Chuncheon

Next stop was the trending potato bread, famous on social media. It looks just like a real potato, with a chewy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior filled with potato and cheese. One bite had me wondering, "Is this really a potato?" The taste was astonishing.

🌳 Nami Island – A Walk to Remember

A trip to Chuncheon isn’t complete without visiting Nami Island. Even the short ferry ride to the island is filled with anticipation. Once inside, it’s a world of lush greenery. Couples, families, and solo travelers all seem to walk at the same pace, enjoying the serene atmosphere.

Sitting on a bench, feeling the river breeze, time seemed to flow effortlessly.

🍲 Dakgalbi and Buckwheat Makguksu – The True Taste of Chuncheon

Dinner was, of course, dakgalbi! The aroma of chicken sizzling on the grill with chewy rice cakes, cabbage, and spicy gochujang sauce was irresistible. It was a call for a bowl of rice.

And the perfect pairing—buckwheat makguksu. A refreshing bite that washes away the spiciness of dakgalbi. Chuncheon truly is a city of flavors.

☕️ Sand Coffee – Wrapping Up the Day

The final stop was a cozy sand coffee café nestled among potato fields. Watching the coffee drip like an hourglass while sipping a cup, I felt the day slowly coming to a close.

A good trip always leaves a beautiful impression until the very end.
