A STROLL THROUGH SHUANGLANG ANCIENT HEART

#cherryblossom25

Shuanglang Ancient Town is one of the few ancient towns in Dali.
Instead of visiting the popular Dali Ancient Town, we chose Shuanglang Ancient Town as it was closer to our hotel.

We arrived early in the morning on a gloomy day and began strolling along its stone-paved road.

The walk to the other end of the town is quite far, but thankfully there’s a comfortable buggy service (with a small fee) available.

As we walked, we passed many traditional Bai houses, the Bai being the local ethnic group.

The old shops were unique and charming, each with its own character.
The buggy dropped us off at the pier, where cruise boats to Nanzhao Island were docked.

We continued walking, taking in the local life and imagining the livelihood of the Bai people in earlier times. Quaint shops and vibrant spring flowers brought the village to life.

The scenery of Shuanglang Ancient Town is especially captivating as it sits right at the edge of Erhai Lake.
You can walk along the shoreline and admire the calm, expansive waters, adding a peaceful and refreshing touch to the experience.

It was a pleasant outing, and you’d need at least half a day to fully explore and enjoy everything the town has to offer.
