Yunnan | You must visit Xizhou Ancient Town in autumn to experience the stunning sea of rice fields!

Xizhou Ancient Town is truly worth visiting. Wandering through a sea of rice fields is very healing, and it’s a great spot for photos. The best part is, it’s free!

🚗 Transportation: Electric scooter
Why do I recommend an electric scooter? Because you can feel the breeze, it gives a sense of freedom! If there’s even a little sunshine, riding in the sun while feeling the wind and the scent of rice is really wonderful! You can rent an electric scooter for a day. Many places in Yunnan offer rentals, and you can also ask your guesthouse owner. No worries about finding one!

⌛️ Best time: October
The photos I took were in early October, and I think this is the perfect time to visit. The yellow color really gives an autumn vibe. If you go in July or August, the fields will be lush green, but it will be hot and there will be many mosquitoes, so please pay attention to the timing of your trip~
📍 Best photo spot: Coffee House

This is the place in my 6th photo. It’s easy to find; once you arrive at Xizhou Ancient Town, you’ll usually come across it—it seems to be on the main path, though I’m a bit fuzzy on that. If you want to take photos, keep an eye out for this spot. It’s a beautiful and distinctive little house!
