Perched at around 1,900 m above sea level, Tianshan Tianchi Lake is a crescent‑shaped alpine gem nestled beneath Bogda Peak. Its crystal-clear waters mirror snow-capped peaks, dense fir forests, and wildflower meadows, creating breathtaking vistas. Visitors can cruise the lake, explore Taoist temples like the Queen Mother’s Temple, hike or ascend via cable car to Mayashan Summit, and feel the tranquility of its pristine surrounds. At peak times it’s busy, but walking a bit further unveils quiet trails. Best visited between May and October for vibrant landscapes and temperate weather.
