Hakone: The Call of Mountains and Lakes

Take the train to Odawara and then take a bus to the north of Lake Ashi, take a boat across Lake Ashi to the south. When the weather is good, Mount Fuji is clearly visible and the scenery of lakes and mountains is breathtaking.
After getting off the boat, you can take a walk in Enshi Park. Many locals take their lunch boxes and rest on the platform at the top of Enshi Park. If you write a review for the lakeside exhibition hall behind, you can get a free postcard.
Then you can eat at a local restaurant, one of those small shops that only accepts cash and requires gestures. The food is delicious, the portions are large, and it’s relatively cheap.
Then we visited the Sculpture Forest Open-Air Museum, which was very nice. There was nothing wrong with it in the summer except that it was hot. It should be very beautiful in the fall.
