We arrived at the City Balcony in the quiet of morning, when the Qiantang River was still and the city hadn’t yet rushed awake 🌊🌤️🚶♀️. The air was cool and light, and the wide steps stretched out before us, empty except for a few early walkers and joggers tracing the curve of the promenade. The skyline stood calm across the water, reflected in soft ripples as the first light touched the tops of the buildings. It felt open, almost peaceful just space, sky, and the slow breath of the river.
We walked without hurry, listening to the breeze move through the railings, watching sunlight catch on the dome of the conference center nearby 🌅🏙️🍃. Streetlights blinked off one by one, giving way to the day, and a few birds passed low over the water. There was no show, no crowd, no noise just the feeling of standing at the edge of something steady and wide. In the stillness, the City Balcony felt like a pause between hours, a place to look out and quietly begin.
