Seeking Zen and Street Flavor in Hangzhou 🌿🍡
Lingyin Temple is one of China’s most storied Buddhist temples, tucked into lush forests right by West Lake. It’s a peaceful spot to soak up ancient vibes, wander incense-wreathed halls, and discover stunning rock carvings—all before diving into Hangzhou’s lively street food scene!
🧭 Route & Must-Dos:
Start your visit early (doors open at 6:30 AM) to beat the crowds and enjoy the serene morning air. Stroll down Fayun Lane, where the old camphor trees frame your approach—super photogenic! Explore the main halls, especially the Grand Hall, with its towering Buddha statues. Don’t skip the Feilai Feng Grottoes right by the entrance, packed with centuries-old Buddhist sculptures—perfect for those wow shots.
📸 Top Photo Spots:
Snap the stone archways at first light, the incense swirling in the temple courtyards, and try for unique angles peeking through the ancient gates. The mossy rocks and carvings around Feilai Feng are a must!
🍢 Street Food Tip:
After your temple visit, take a stroll along Lingyin Road or nearby lanes to discover local street eats—try Hangzhou-style shaomai, crispy fried dough sticks or sweet lotus root.
