📑 Here's a 6-day, 5-night family-friendly itinerary that avoids all the pitfalls. Save it now!
Day 1⃣️✈️ Arrival in Harbin
🌟 In the afternoon, we took the kids to Ice and Snow World. The giant slides, Ferris wheel 🎡, and ice bicycles were so much fun that the kids said it was even better than Disneyland. Make sure to keep your kids warm, as the temperature in Ice and Snow World is 10 degrees lower than in the city. Bring enough hand warmers and heated insoles for their feet. In the evening, we visited Central Street and St. Sophia Cathedral and enjoyed some delicious Northeastern cuisine.
Day 2⃣️ Harbin - Erlanghe Village - Snow Town
🌟 On the way, we stopped at Erlanghe Village to experience the authentic and simple rural life of Northeast China. We made dumplings, cut paper decorations, wrote blessings, and set off firecrackers at a local's home—it truly felt like celebrating the New Year.
🌟 We rode a horse-drawn sleigh through the snowy forest, dressed in traditional Northeastern floral jackets, and took some unique family photos.
🌟 By evening, we arrived at Snow Town, surrounded by mushroom-shaped houses. The night lights were absolutely dreamy.
Day 3⃣️ A full day of fun in Snow Town
🌟 In the morning, we took photos of the "boiling water turning into ice" phenomenon.
🌟 We rode snowmobiles and snow vehicles through "Bear Ridge"⛰️, overlooking the breathtaking Snow Town scenery. We also experienced the "snow dragon" and thrilling snow drifts—it was so exciting! The kids even asked if Bear Big and Bear Two really live here.
🌟 In the evening, we strolled through Snow Town, took photos with the adorable "snow mushrooms" 🍄, enjoyed the float parade, and danced the night away with the crowd.
Day 4⃣️ Snow Town - Hengdaohezi - Yabuli
🌟 We got up close to the majestic "big cats" on a thrilling ride. It was an awe-inspiring experience, and the kids learned about Siberian tigers' habits and even helped prepare their meals with a research guide, gaining a lot of knowledge.
🌟 We strolled through the streets of Hengdaohezi, where the century-old buildings felt like scenes from a movie.
🌟 In the evening, we stayed at a hot spring hotel in Yabuli and soaked in the snowfield hot springs—it was so relaxing.
Day 5⃣️ Yabuli - Harbin - Stay at the highly anticipated Polar Bear Hotel
🌟 The kids tried skiing ⛷️ on family-friendly slopes. Their learning ability was impressive—they mastered skiing in just a few hours.
🌟 We checked into the Polar Bear Hotel, and the kids were so excited, jumping around. From our room, we could see polar bears. This hotel is incredibly hard to book, but our family tour managed to secure a room with a bear view—it was such a pleasant surprise.
Day 6⃣️ Polar Bear Hotel ✈️ Home
🌟 We had breakfast with polar bears and followed a research guide into the polar animal world to learn about polar bears and penguins. It was an enriching experience. This trip was incredibly satisfying, and the kids were reluctant to part with their new friends from the tour group. They've already made plans to meet up again for another adventure.
💡 The attractions are far apart, and the roads can be slippery in winter, so self-driving isn't very convenient. Joining a family tour is a great option. The accommodations alone are worth it, not to mention all the family activities. The value is unbeatable. 👍🏻
