Recommended Day Trips from Shenzhen

Gupo Mountain's Three Waterfalls: Xiangu Waterfall, Jiutian Waterfall, and Benma Waterfall. Personally recommend Benma and Xiangu! The hike to Jiutian involves 1.5 hours of stairs, not ideal for elderly or children, and snakes may appear after rain!!

Transport Guide:
High-speed rail + bus: From Shenzhen North/Guangzhou South to Hezhou Station, then take Tourist Line 17 (1.5 hours/5 yuan) directly to the scenic area; or take Bus 16 (40-50 minutes/5 yuan) to nearby.
Self-drive: Navigate to "Gupo Mountain Tourist Area Parking Lot". Parking fee is 10 yuan. Tickets must be purchased online 1 hour in advance (58 yuan, 66 yuan on-site). Sightseeing bus ticket is mandatory (15 yuan/person for unlimited rides).
Guangdong residents enjoy free admission before June 30 (show ID for paper ticket or entry).

Recommended Attractions:
1. Benma Waterfall: 58-meter drop, abundant water flow, gentle stone steps, fewer crowds for great photos, wild monkey sightings en route (take precautions).
2. Xiangu Waterfall: Near entrance, strong water flow but crowded, recommended for quick visits.
3. Jiutian Waterfall: Requires 1-hour hike with beautiful canyon views, delicate ribbon-like falls perfect for photos but physically demanding.
4. Fangjia Tea Plantation: Filming location for "Tea is Stronger in Hometown", free tea tasting available, misty on rainy days like fairyland.
5. Guyaochong: Monkey gathering area – secure belongings, Benma Waterfall is more spectacular here.

Tips:
Free luggage storage at visitor center (retrieve before 5pm).
Wear anti-slip shoes, bring mosquito repellent, water and snacks.
Consider stream trekking when descending – clear and gentle waters perfect for play.

Precautions:
Trails become slippery after rain, Jiutian route difficulty increases. More mosquitoes – long sleeves recommended. Weak signal – carry cash. Avoid holidays, weekdays preferred.
