Saigon Central Post Office~"Write a strand of thoughts into a stack of letter paper in the elegant romance of French and Vietnamese style"
📕History: It is the oldest and first post office in Vietnam🇻🇳. It was built between 1886 and 1891 and designed by the famous designer Marie Alfred Foulhoux. Since Vietnam was once a French colony, the building is full of French romance. It is not only a recreational attraction, but also a post office in operation. It was even rated as one of the "most beautiful post offices in the world" by the architectural design magazine "Architectural Digest" in 2023~! !
🏘️Architectural features: The current appearance of the post office is light yellow, but the early appearance was a bit skin-colored light pink, and the current appearance is the appearance after it was repainted in 2015~
Looking closely at the exterior wall, you can find a unique carved design encircled around the outer perimeter of the corridor, and the overall shape is symmetrical on the left and right! ! This kind of building was built in the style of the 19th century Renaissance and added the concept of the French palace. When you walk into the room, the tall arch design makes the interior space look wider and more comfortable. If you look up and appreciate it carefully, you will find many clocks from various countries hanging on the wall, suggesting that the post office is sending letters to people who are far away without being restricted by time and distance. Isn’t it warm and romantic? !
