💞Recommendation:
The old camp has been renovated and is now open to the public free of charge. It's renamed "HualienNonghaoBase." You'll need to speak Taiwanese to appreciate the meaning behind the name. 🙂 After walking through the landscaped gardens of the Mambo Garden, you'll arrive at the hidden underground tunnels of Hill 48. The tunnels are cool and clean. After exiting the tunnels, the gun ports lead to a panoramic sea-viewing platform overlooking Crescent Bay and the Qingshui Cliffs in the distance.

🗓️Itinerary:
The free guided tour includes a smooth and detailed explanation of the camp and Indigenous history. It's a solid history lesson. Allow about an hour for your visit.
