🌞 Morning Itinerary: Nanxun Ancient Town (Huzhou)
7:00-9:00
Arrive early morning at Baijian Building in Nanxun Ancient Town to capture the water town scenery in the morning mist. There are fewer tourists at this time and admission is free. For kids, it’s recommended to experience the silk reeling workshop to make silk bookmarks (intangible cultural heritage project), or take a punt boat ride (private boat at North Dock 150 RMB/6 people).

Visit Xiaolian Manor lotus pond (lotus blooms in summer, great for Hanfu photos) and the Baroque-style Red House of Zhang Shiming’s former residence. It’s more cost-effective to buy a combined ticket for Xiaolian Manor + Zhang Residence (total 60 RMB).
Lunch
Zhuangyuanlou "One Bowl Three Flavors" set meal (includes mini Xun pig trotters + double-cross noodles + Ding Sheng cake), or try the crispy eel and pork double-poured noodles (25 RMB/bowl).

🌤 Afternoon Itinerary: Jiaxing Nanhu Lake or Taihu Moon Bay (choose one)
Option 1: Jiaxing Nanhu Lake (suitable for history education)

Drive or take a taxi to Jiaxing Nanhu Lake (about 1 hour), take a boat to the island in the lake (20 RMB/person, includes commentary), visit the Red Boat and the Revolutionary Memorial Hall (free with ID).
15:00-16:00
Walk around Shaoyuan Park near Nanhu Lake, suitable for family leisure.
Option 2: Taihu Moon Bay (suitable for natural scenery)

Check in at the "Toilet Ring" Sheraton Hotel, rent an electric bike to ride around the lake (30 RMB/hour), visit the Ancient Wood Museum to touch petrified wood.
15:30-17:00
At Fisherman’s Wharf, taste steamed white fish + silverfish egg drop soup (80 RMB per person), or choose the lakeside seat at "Lakeside Residence" teahouse.
🌙 Before returning in the evening: Yishang Street Food Crawl (Huzhou)

Buy Zhou Shengji marinated chicken feet (25 RMB/4 pieces), Ding Lianfang qianzhang wrapped vermicelli soup, and for souvenirs, recommend Zhu Laoda black pork rice dumplings (12 RMB each). If time allows, rest at "You Shi Hou" café on Xiaoxi Street.

🚗 Transportation Suggestions
Self-driving: Nanxun Ancient Town P4 parking lot is the closest (5 RMB/hour), for Jiaxing Nanhu Lake it’s recommended to park at the museum’s free parking lot and then ride a shared electric bike.
High-speed rail: Taxi from Huzhou Station to Nanxun takes about 40 minutes (80 RMB), Jiaxing Nanhu Lake is closer to the high-speed rail station.

⚠️ Notes
Sun and mosquito protection: There are many mosquitoes near water in summer, bring mosquito repellent and a sun hat.
Time control: The last punt boat in Nanxun is at 16:00, Taihu ancient town performances (such as iron flower throwing) mostly start at 20:00.
