One of the most unforgettable moments during my trip to Taiwan was undoubtedly visiting Jiufen (九份). As I climbed the narrow, winding alleyways, the red lanterns hanging everywhere began to light up one by one, completely transforming the atmosphere. 🌙 It truly felt like stepping into a scene from a movie.
The alleys were lined with various street snacks that made me stop in my tracks. I enjoyed a peanut ice cream roll as I strolled leisurely. Its sweet and nutty flavor seemed to wash away all the fatigue of traveling! 🍦 I also tried the famous taro ball dessert, which had a delightfully chewy texture and was a unique treat.
When the sun set and the lights filled the alleys, I couldn’t help but think, ‘I’m so glad I came to Taiwan.’ 🏮 Jiufen is far more enchanting at night than during the day, so I highly recommend staying until the evening to fully soak in its charm.
