A Perfect Day Trip to Mojiko in Mid-Oct 2024

I took a one-day trip to Mojiko using the 2D Fukuoka Wide Pass, which made travel from Hakata Station via Kokura seamless and affordable.

🇵🇲 Mojiko Pier: Started the day with a relaxing stroll along the scenic waterfront overlooking the Kanmon Strait.

🐡 Karato Market: Crossed to Shimonoseki to enjoy fresh sushi and sea urchin at this vibrant seafood market.

⛩️ Akama Jingu: Visited this serene shrine with iconic red torii gates and rich history.

🌁 Kanmon Tunnel: Walked through the unique pedestrian tunnel under the Kanmon Strait, connecting Kyushu and Honshu.

🚂 Retro Train Ride: Took the nostalgic Kitakyushu Bank Retro Line Shiokaze back to Mojiko with lovely views.

🚉 Kyushu Railway History Museum: Explored interactive exhibits and historic locomotives, a treat for railway fans.

🍛 Curry Honpo: Ended the day with a flavorful beef curry, the perfect comfort food.

Returning to Hakata, I reflected on Mojiko’s blend of history, culture, and food. It was a perfect autumn getaway packed with unique experiences!
