[Kokura] Kokura Castle

Kokura Castle, located in Kokura, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is an important gateway connecting Honshu and Kyushu. The castle was built in 1602 by Hosokawa Tadaoki and is a cultural symbol of Japan from the Warring States Period to the Edo Period. Unlike other castles, the exterior of the castle tower of Kokura Castle is mainly black, giving it a calm and mysterious feel.
When you enter the castle, the first thing that catches your eye is the majestic moat and ancient city walls. There is a museum inside the castle, which displays many historical relics, including samurai armor and ancient weapons.
After climbing the castle tower, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the entire Kokura city area, especially in spring and autumn, when the surrounding cherry blossoms and maple leaves add a lot of color to the scenery, making it a good time to take pictures.
