Discover the Christmas Kuala Lumpur! Travel guide

#malaysiatrip

Many people think that when staying in Kampung, the main attraction is only the Petronas Towers. Yes, they are famous worldwide, but they do not fully represent the rich culture of Kuala Lumpur. In this travel guide, I will show you more than just these iconic towers.

As usual, I love to stay at a central five-star hotel. So after arriving by direct flight with Qatar Airways — named best airline for 2024–2025 — I checked into Mandarin Oriental Hotel, located right next to the Petronas Towers.

However, since my arrival was around 9 PM and check-in took place close to 11 PM, I went out for a walk shortly before midnight. To my surprise, the Petronas Towers were already darkened. Their lighting turns off between 10–11 PM, which created an unusual contrast with other cities where skyscrapers remain illuminated throughout the night. It felt magical walking among giant buildings without their bright glow.

The following day started with breakfast in the lobby followed by packing up my belongings.

I visited Pavilion KLCC, admiring the view of the towers while strolling through the pleasant surroundings of its lush green park. Afterward, my friend picked me up and we embarked on exploring more of the city.

We drove to BATU CAVES, then proceeded to visit one of Malaysia's most renowned temples—Kek Lok Si Temple.

This temple left me amazed as it was my first time there. Later, he took me along scenic golf courses surrounded by beautifully maintained lawns.

The day concluded at a Chinese restaurant, where he dropped me back at the airport.

It was indeed a wonderful experience filled with diverse sights and flavors!
