Standing proudly near Kuala Lumpur’s Lake Gardens, the 15-metre-tall bronze sculpture honors Malaysia’s fallen heroes. Designed by American sculptor Felix de Weldon and unveiled in 1966, it depicts seven soldiers symbolizing unity, courage, sacrifice, and victory.

The base bears the solemn inscription: “May the sacrifices of our fallen heroes be forever remembered.” The monument’s tranquil setting, with its fountains and marble walls, creates a solemn space for reflection.

Every year before Merdeka Day, national leaders lay wreaths here to pay tribute, reminding all Malaysians of the price of peace and unity.
