Yuantong Temple in Kunming felt calm and peaceful from the moment I arrived. Unlike most temples, you walk downhill to enter, which makes it feel like you’re stepping deeper into a quiet world. The main courtyard has a lovely pond with turtles and a small pavilion that adds to the peaceful vibe. Inside, the halls are filled with detailed statues and old carvings that made me stop and look closer.
