Kiyomizu-dera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the oldest temple in Kyoto, built in 778 and belonging to the Jodo sect. The temple is famous for its magnificent wooden stage that hangs over the hillside, offering stunning views of Kyoto city. The name Kiyomizu-dera comes from the nearby Kiyomizu spring, whose water is believed to have sacred healing powers. You can explore the area by starting from Ninenzaka → Sannenzaka → along Kiyomizuzaka.

Transportation: Take the Keihan Electric Railway Keihan Main Line to Gion-Shijo Station or the Hankyu Railway Kyoto Line to Kawaramachi Station, then transfer to Keihan Bus No. 83, 85, 87, or 88, get off at Kiyomizu-michi or Gojozaka, and walk about 10 minutes to reach the temple.
Arashiyama is a scenic area in the western part of Kyoto, known for its spectacular natural landscapes and historical sites. It features the famous bamboo grove, monkey park, and several temples. The highly popular sightseeing train in Arashiyama, the Sagano Romantic Train, takes about 25 minutes for the entire ride. Upon arriving at Arashiyama Station, the most popular attraction is the Togetsukyo Bridge, which spans the Katsura River, connecting Arashiyama and Sagano. The name of the bridge means "Moon Crossing Bridge," derived from the beautiful moon views that can be seen from the bridge. Togetsukyo Bridge is the main gateway for tourists to Arashiyama, surrounded by natural scenery such as bamboo groves, mountains, and rivers, providing excellent photo opportunities.
