#KyotoNinezakaYasakaChaya
#Starbucks has launched the "Starbucks Regional Landmark Store Series," a series of stores dedicated to showcasing regional history, traditional crafts, and culture.
Currently, there are 27 concept stores across Japan.
One of these stores is the "KyotoNinezakaYasakaChaya" (Starbucks Co. KyotoNinezakaYasakaChaya) located in an old Japanese house on Ninezaka, near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a popular tourist attraction in Kyoto.
The quaint building blends seamlessly into the local streetscape.
Besides the delicious Kyoto Matcha Latte 🍵☕️
Architectural Highlights
"KyotoNinezakaYasakaChaya"
The Ninezaka neighborhood still retains the charm of the Taisho period, and the streetscape is rich in history and culture. In addition to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, nearby attractions like Yasaka Pagoda (Hokan-ji Temple) and Yasaka Koshin-do Temple are always bustling with tourists.
🌟 Besides the dark blue Starbucks noren curtain at the entrance, there's a discreet twin-tailed mermaid lantern on the second floor.
🌟 Furthermore, the katakana "ヤサカ" (meaning "Yaei") carved into the eaves tiles is a highlight only insiders will recognize.
After lifting the noren curtain and entering, you'll see a wash basin, common in Japanese gardens, in the front courtyard on the right.
🌟 The tiles are cleverly decorated with the scales of the mermaid goddess from the Starbucks logo, cleverly integrating Starbucks' style with Japanese culture.
🌟 After ordering your drink at the counter, which glows like a paper lantern, you'll walk through the long hallway to the coffee bar.
This narrow hallway is designed to allow customers to enjoy the "tongniwa" atmosphere often found in traditional Kyoto houses.
🌟 At the end, you'll find the coffee bar and backyard! While waiting for your drink, admire the beautiful Japanese moss garden through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
You can also stop by nearby ##Key's Cafe for a ceremonial latte art.
Then head to #%ARABICA #arabicakyoto for a coffee hopping experience.
