Hey everyone! As a travel enthusiast who considers Leshan my "second hometown", I've visited 5 times and finally mastered how to explore this city! Today I'm sharing my insider tips with you - follow this guide to save money and avoid tourist traps! Save this now~ 💥
🚄[Transportation: What's the Most Convenient Way to Get There?]
Strongly recommend taking the high-speed rail! It only takes about an hour from Chengdu to Leshan, with tickets around CNY 50+ 🚅. From the station, take a taxi to downtown - it's only CNY 20 from Leshan Station to Zhanggong Bridge (the food hub - take note!). For those driving, parking in the city center is tight. I recommend parking at shopping malls like Shihao Plaza, which charges a reasonable CNY 6/hour.
🏨[Accommodation: Where's the Best Value?]
First choice: near Zhanggong Bridge! All kinds of delicious food are right downstairs, and after enjoying street food at night, you can walk back to your hotel in minutes 🛏️. If budget allows, I recommend Atour or Ji Hotel - clean and comfortable. For students, chain budget hotels are great value at CNY 100-200 per night! If you want to experience the ancient town atmosphere, there are several boutique guesthouses in Suji Town, with views of bridges and streams, plus you can enjoy authentic Qiaojiao Beef for breakfast 🍜.
🍢[Food: Follow the Locals for the Best Eats!]
Leshan is a "carb paradise"! Here are my must-try picks 👇
🌟Qiaojiao Beef
A must-eat in Leshan! The broth is incredibly flavorful - try "Fangfang Qiaojiao Beef". The beef slices are tender and well-seasoned, amazing with the dipping sauce. Don't forget to order the crispy spicy intestines - perfect with rice! 🥩🔥
🌟Sweet Skin Duck
Crispy skin and juicy meat - must get it freshly fried! Choose either "Ji Liu Niang" or "Zhao Duck", both popular spots. Try half a duck and ask for extra sweet sauce when getting takeaway 🍗✨
🌟Boboji (Spicy Street Skewers)
Try both red oil and Sichuan pepper sauce! Skewers are CNY 1-2 each at "Gu Zhen Ji". Must-tries: chicken feet, liver, and tripe. Finish with some noodles in the soup - absolutely delicious! 🍢🍜
🌟Other Hidden Gems
Try the tofu pudding with crispy pork and seaweed 🍥; Ye'er Ba with both savory meat and sweet sesame fillings. Don't miss the egg pancakes, fried skewers, and grass jelly dessert... Save room for these treats! 💥
📸[Attractions: Beyond the Giant Buddha, These Spots Are Instagram-worthy!]
✨Leshan Giant Buddha
Must-visit! But don't waste time queuing to climb up. Two recommended ways to visit:
1. Boat tour: Take a boat from Wuyou Temple Dock - 20-minute ride for up-close views of the Buddha. Great photos from the bow - wear bright colors! 🚤
2. View from the foot: Enter through the main entrance, follow signs to the Nine Curves Plank Road (go early to avoid crowds). Amazing views looking up at the Buddha from halfway up! 📸
✨Suji Ancient Town
Less crowded than downtown, with stone paths and old houses full of local charm. Walk along the river, watch locals drinking tea and chatting, stop at an old restaurant for Qiaojiao Beef - pure bliss! 🌿
✨Shangzhongshun District
New Instagram hotspot! Blue and white buildings with riverside corridors - perfect for Japanese-style photos. Even more romantic at night with lights on. Great for coffee breaks with friends ☕
💡[Tips to Avoid Tourist Traps]
1. Avoid "special snacks" at tourist sites - overpriced and not tasty. Follow local crowds for authentic food.
2. Don't buy "Buddha blessing souvenirs" - total scam!
3. Extremely crowded on weekends and holidays. Visit during off-peak times - best experience before 9 AM.
🌿Leshan is truly a city you'll never want to leave! Endless delicious food, beautiful scenery, and super friendly locals.
