A gem-like lake that changes shades of blue under different light. The viewing platforms offer stunning photo opportunities.
📍 Barkhor Street
Free to explore, best visited in the morning

⚠ Practical tips:
1. The UV rays in Tibet are intense! Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat are must-haves.
2. Avoid showering immediately after arriving in Lhasa—give your body 2 days to adjust to the altitude.
3. Carry chocolates or candies to combat mild altitude sickness.
4. Always bring your ID, as it’s required at many attractions.
5. Respect local customs: no photography inside temples, and avoid pointing at Buddha statues.
🍵 Food recommendations:
▫ Sweet tea houses: Guangming Gangqiong Sweet Tea House is the most famous, with tea at just ¥1 per cup.
▫ Tibetan noodles: Simple noodles in beef broth—comforting and warming.
▫ Yak jerky: Fresher when bought on the spot, perfect as a snack.
▫ Butter tea: Might take some getting used to, but it helps with altitude sickness.
🚗 Transportation tips:
Flying directly to Lhasa is the most convenient.
Taxis in the city are cheap, but hiring a private car is better for distant attractions.
