Half-Day Trip to Macau from Zhuhai Gongbei Port

Zhuhai Station is located close to Gongbei Port, and along the way, there are many currency exchange points. After checking a few places with the same exchange rate, I exchanged some Macau Patacas, only to find out later that the rates near Gongbei Port were the most favorable.

Walking through Gongbei Port to clear customs takes about half an hour, and you’ll arrive at Macau’s Border Gate. From there, you can take a bus (MOP 6) to the area near the Ruins of St. Paul’s, which takes about 10 minutes. The entire journey to Macau’s central attractions takes less than an hour.

Around the Ruins of St. Paul’s, Mount Fortress, and Senado Square, you can explore the popular tourist spots. Although the Ruins of St. Paul’s were under renovation, Mount Fortress offers a great view of Macau Peninsula and Zhuhai’s Wanzai area. The Senado Square area is surrounded by colorful Portuguese-style buildings, and wandering through the narrow, undulating alleys gives a distinct European vibe.

Suddenly, it started raining heavily, so I decided to return to Zhuhai. It was rush hour, and the buses were crowded, with long queues at customs. Fortunately, everything was orderly and moved quickly. The return journey took about an hour, just like the trip to Macau. Staying in Zhuhai and visiting Macau is quite convenient.
