A Stroll Through Malacca’s Timeless Treasures

Spent a lovely day wandering through the historic heart of Malacca, where every corner tells a story. The Malacca River was the perfect starting point — lined with colorful murals and charming cafes, it made for a scenic stroll with plenty of photo ops.
Of course, we had to stop for a bowl of ice-cold chendol, topped with rich gula melaka and creamy coconut milk — an absolute must in this weather and so satisfying by the riverside.
We explored the iconic Red House (Stadthuys) — that deep terracotta red against the bright sky is still such a striking sight. What really stood out, though, was the mix of Dutch, Portuguese, and Peranakan architectural styles around Jonker Street and beyond. There’s nowhere quite like it — rustic, layered, and alive with culture.
Malacca may be small, but it’s packed with personality, heritage, and sweetness (literally and figuratively!).
