Ancient town - Ningbo

Ningbo is famous for its well-preserved ancient towns. The most famous one is Cicheng (慈城), but others like Former Cao'e Town (前童古镇) are also popular.

These towns are living history museums. You can explore old government offices, classic schools, and beautiful family temples. They are peaceful and less crowded than similar towns near Shanghai. A plus is that you can see mountains everywhere you go.

Local snacks are a big highlight. You must try sticky rice dumplings, handmade rice cakes, and other delicious traditional foods.
