Japan Travel: A Okayama Day-trip

A day trip doesn't have to feel rushed. It should leave us feeling enriched, not exhausted. In my day trip to Okayama, we make sure to experience, and not just see, the city.
In Okayama, we visited the Okayama Castle, also known as the black 'Crow' castle, and next to it was the Korakuen garden. There were no tourist crowds, just the beautiful garden almost all to ourselves; us taking in peace and serenity.

Okayama is well-known for its fruits, especially peaches. Peach products can be found everywhere, except for the peaches itself as they weren't in season then. Not to worry, as we had perfectly riped strawberries from a nearby market (at an amazing price, too).

Later in the day, we went to Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. People come here for its picturesque canal, but we spent our time exploring the quiet, cobbled backstreets. There, you can find traditional craft shops and resturants selling local delicacies, such as their amazing savory udon.

Would you do a similar day trip to Okayama?
