A trip to Korea wouldn't be complete without experiencing being a princess at Gyeongbokgung Palace in a hanbok! The moment you step into the palace wearing a hanbok, it feels like you've traveled back in time, fulfilling a dream of being the heroine in a Korean drama.
Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the largest and oldest palaces in Seoul, boasts elegant and solemn architectural styles, exuding a historical charm at every corner. The vermilion palace walls and the gray-tiled roofs make for perfect photo backdrops.
Hanbok rental shops are scattered around Gyeongbokgung Palace, with prices ranging from 30,000 to 80,000 KRW. The shop I chose had a wide variety of styles, from traditional and luxurious dresses to fresh and simple everyday wear. The staff even helped with intricate hair braiding and accessory matching.
Strolling through the palace in a hanbok, every step exudes grace. You can take majestic and dignified photos in front of Geunjeongjeon Hall or capture a gentle and serene atmosphere in the quiet side halls. And of course, don't forget to try the street food like fish cakes and tteokbokki to experience Korean street food culture.
Darlings, when you come to Korea, you must visit Gyeongbokgung Palace to experience wearing a hanbok and capture your most beautiful moments in the ancient palace!
