"The famous and attractive place you definitely won't want to miss when you visit South Korea"
For the past 40 years, Namsan Seoul Tower has served as an iconic landmark of Korea and a representative tourist attraction. It was the first multipurpose tower to be established in Korea, effectively incorporating a sightseeing observatory to a broadcasting tower. Currently, it broadcasts signals for Korean media outlets, such as KBS, MBC and SBS.
The 236-meter (774 ft)-tall tower marks the second highest point in Seoul that offers an unobstructed view of the whole city, allowing it to become one of the all-time favorite attractions of Seoul citizens as well as domestic and international tourists.
Another highlight of the tower is the Namsan Cable Car. The cable car began its operation in 1962, transferring passengers from the foot of the mountain to the base of the tower. Shuttle buses to the Namsan Cable Car from downtown Seoul are also available for visitors' convenience.
'Love padlocks' is a common couple activity consists of the purchasing of a padlock and key, where initials, messages and symbols can be personally inscribed onto the surface of the lock with markers and pens. Securing the padlocks on the fences filled with locks of previous participants, the key is often thrown away as a symbol of everlasting love. This is similar to the love locks in Paris, France, on the Pont Neuf bridge.
This attraction is situated on the 2nd floor of the N Plaza, at the Roof Terrace. The "Locks of Love" is a popular location for people to hang locks that symbolize eternal love, and has been depicted in many Korean television shows, dramas, and movies for this reason.
A lot of K-dramas filmed on this tower, like Imitation 이미테이션)(2021); True Beauty (여신강림)(2020-21); The School Nurse Files (보건교사 안은영) (2020); I Wanna Hear Your Song (너의 노래를 들려줘) (2019); Hotel Del Luna (호텔 델루나) (2019); Five Enough/Five Children (아이가 다섯) Wind-Bell (2019); The Last Empress (황후의 품격) (2018-19); Twelve Nights (2018); Terius Behind Me (내 뒤에 테리우스) (2018); The Smile Has Left Your Eyes (하늘에서 내리는 일억개의 별)(2018); Hwayugi (화유기) (2017-18); Live Up To Your Name Dr. Heo (명불허전) (2017); The Legend of the Blue Sea (푸른 바다의 전설) (2016); Touching You (널 만질거야) (2016); Who Are You: School 2015 (후아유: 학교 2015) (2015); Bubblegum (풍선껌) (2015); Oh My Ghostess (오 나의 귀신님) (2015); Sensory Couple #kdrama #travel #korea #seoul
