Located on Dongdaemun Market's One Chicken Street 🐔, Chen Yuhua's Grandma's Original One Chicken is a renowned establishment. Open since 1987, it's beloved by both Koreans and international tourists, and its popularity continues to grow.

If you see a line near the door, please go to the counter to get a number 🔢, then walk to the line and wait for your number to be called before being seated 🪑.

The menu is in Chinese, English, and Korean. Upon your seat, a raw chicken will be placed in a pot on the table (previously, the chicken was served after you were seated and ordered).

One chicken is served to two people (minimum order is one chicken), and you can add rice 🍚, potatoes 🥔, rice cakes, and udon noodles (which can be added later).

Water and kimchi are available at the self-service area, while sauces like chili pepper 🌶️, white vinegar, mustard, soy sauce, and pepper are provided on the table for customers to mix and match.

The raw chicken must be cooked for about 12 minutes. The wait staff will preheat the chicken and then cut it for the diners.

Grandma Chen Yuhua uses young, tender chickens, so the chicken is incredibly tender. The broth, fragrant with garlic and pepper, is also delicious straight up! I personally find the broth a bit too salty after adding udon noodles, but adding rice to make porridge is a must-try! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
