Shanghai, hidden gems beyond the skyscrapers

Shanghai is at first glance, no different to many other metropolitan cities, but the one thing that stood out is the amount of green space and parks. We were lucky enough to visit during a light show event, where lights lit up the sky from the Bund.

Beyond the bright lights though, Shanghai hosts old streets, many interesting museums and a secret charm. There is also an English bookshop, and it was great to find books written by Chinese authors.

My advice? Stay away from areas with large shopping malls and locate the quiet streets filled with art and people. #couplestrip #australians #travel
