Building History
The Wukang Building was built in 1924, designed by a Hungarian architect. Originally named Normandy Apartments, it was renamed Wukang Building in 1953 after Shanghai took over. Over the past century, it has witnessed Shanghai’s dramatic changes and carries countless historical stories and cultural memories.

The Wukang Building resembles a giant ship, perfectly complementing the 30-degree angle formed between Huaihai Middle Road and Wukang Road. It blends Baroque and Neoclassical elements, adopting French architectural style. The exterior is elegant and graceful, full of romantic and refined charm.
