Jing’an Temple (静安寺) is a famous Buddhist temple on West Nanjing Road in Shanghai’s Jing’an District. It was first built in 247 AD and moved to its current site in 1216.
The temple itself includes golden halls, tall pagodas, and impressive Buddha statues, including a large jade Buddha and a bronze bell. Though it sits among modern skyscrapers and malls, the temple offers a quiet, peaceful place for prayer and reflection. Many visitors come to burn incense, make wishes, or enjoy the calm atmosphere and history of this nearly 1,800-year-old landmark.
