Day 1 – Nanjing Road & The Bund
Walked along Nanjing Road, enjoying the lively shopping street atmosphere.
Continued to The Bund for the iconic skyline views.
Skipped the Shanghai Tower (too expensive) and instead went to the north side viewpoint of The Bund, which gave me amazing photo opportunities, especially at night.
Day 2 – HKRI Taikoo Hui & 1000 Trees Mall, Yu Yuan at Night
Visited HKRI Taikoo Hui, checked out the Louis Vuitton ship-shaped concept store “The Louis” and the Starbucks Reserve Roastery—such a unique coffee experience.
Explored the 1000 Trees Mall, super photogenic with greenery all over its design and a modern, artsy vibe.
In the evening, went to Yu Yuan Garden at night—beautiful lanterns, glowing architecture, and a totally different vibe compared to the skyscraper skyline.
Day 3 – Jade Buddha Temple & Xintiandi
Started the day with the Jade Buddha Temple, peaceful and spiritual right in the city center.
Ended the trip at Xintiandi, a stylish area where traditional shikumen houses mix with modern shops and cafes. Perfect spot to wrap up the trip before heading out.
Even in just three days, I felt like I got the best of both worlds—Shanghai’s futuristic side with its malls and skyline, and its traditional charm through temples and historic districts. It’s a city that never stops surprising you, and I’d definitely come back for more.
