Ta Prohm

Ta Prohm is a temple built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII of the Khmer Empire to honor his mother. It is said that the statues of bodhisattvas in the temple were modeled after his mother✨.

Unlike other Angkor ruins, Ta Prohm has not undergone restoration work and has been preserved almost exactly as it was when it was discovered. This is its most distinctive feature. Although the ruins are heavily damaged💦, the sight of tropical plants like strangler figs intertwining and covering the structures is truly breathtaking.

It feels both mystical and a reminder of the passage of time🌳.
