Located at a high altitude in Sichuan province, the Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area experiences cold winters and can see snow as early as October and into the spring.
However, a visit during winter has some significant differences compared to peak season:
Park closure: The Huanglong scenic area is typically closed from December through March for winter forest conservation. The exact dates for the off-season and closure can vary depending on weather conditions. Some parts of the broader park, such as Munigou Valley, may remain accessible.
