Pingjiang Road 平江路
If you visit Suzhou, Pingjiang Road is definitely worth a stroll. Traditional houses line the street, with a canal flowing alongside. The narrow, old stone path adds to the walking experience. While it may not be a major attraction, it’s perfect for a leisurely exploration. On both sides of the street, you’ll find tea houses, souvenir shops, and street vendors selling snacks, making it fun to browse through each shop.
Although some sections can get crowded, it’s not overwhelmingly busy. The traditional buildings across the canal and the seemingly unorganized yet natural scenery leave a lasting impression. There are plenty of spots ideal for photography, and as you casually walk with your smartphone in hand, you might lose track of time.
Even without doing anything special, the street itself is enjoyable. Its unpolished charm makes it even more attractive. As you walk, you’ll realize that Suzhou is not just a city of gardens and old mansions. This street offers a glimpse into another side of Suzhou.
