Jinji Lake 🌱

We reached Jinji Lake just as the summer evening settled in, the sky stretching wide and pink over the water 🌇🏞️🚤. The lake shimmered with the last of the sunlight, while the skyline of Suzhou Industrial Park began to glow, each building reflected like a city floating upside down. A soft breeze came off the water, carrying the scent of grass and the occasional waft of street food from the promenade 🌬️🍢🌿.

People strolled along the boardwalk, some with ice cream in hand, others stopping to watch boats glide past or lights flicker on the Ferris wheel 🎡🍦🚶♂️. As night deepened, the lake transformed the lights of the Moon Harbour and the Gate of the Orient shining bright against the dark water 🌌🏙️🌉. Jinji Lake in summer didn’t rush. It waited for you to slow down, to watch the day end with color in the sky and reflections that never quite stayed still.
