Reflections on the Intersection of Architecture and Culture: A Tribute to Han Pao-Teh

Visiting the Han Pao-Teh Memorial Exhibition, I deeply felt his contributions to the preservation of Taiwanese architecture and culture. The exhibition, through themes such as 'More Than an Architect,' 'Cultural Preservation and Research,' 'Appropriate Geometry,' and 'Mahayana Architecture,' showcases his diverse achievements in architectural design, heritage restoration, and cultural promotion.

The exhibition features 14 representative architectural works from the 1960s to the 1990s. From the Tunghai University Architecture Building to youth activity centers in Xitou and Kenting, and the restoration projects of the Taiwan Provincial Museum and the old Jianye Bank building, one can see his dedication to modern architecture and cultural heritage. The most interesting part is the display of 6,200 architectural drawings, which not only record the details of architectural design but also witness the development of Taiwanese architecture.

The exhibition helps people understand that architecture is not just about spatial design but is closely connected with culture, history, and life. Han Pao-Teh's philosophy still has a profound impact today, making one ponder: good architecture is not just about buildings but also about being a carrier of culture. If you are interested in architecture and cultural preservation, this exhibition is definitely worth a visit!
