Shimen Reservoir Hike Was Way More Fun Than Expected

#chinatravel Spent the afternoon hiking around Shimen Reservoir in Taoyuan District, Taoyuan, Taiwan and honestly it was a vibe. Not a crazy intense hike or anything but more of a relaxed walk with solid scenery the whole way.

There are a bunch of little trails and paths that loop around the reservoir. Some parts are paved and others feel more like forest trails. Super green, lots of trees and views of the water popping through every now and then.

The air feels fresh out there and it is way quieter than the city. Perfect place to just zone out for a bit. Saw a few cyclists and families but it never felt crowded.

One of the highlights was this cute little viewing spot with benches overlooking the water. Great place to snack and chill.

No fancy gear needed. Just comfy shoes and some water. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot that’s still easy to get to, Shimen’s got you covered.
