【Shinsen】A stylish izakaya popular even on weekdays

Just a short walk from Shibuya Station, in the Shinsen area, is the stylish izakaya "Meshi-dokoro POOL."

The interior was fully booked, with many female customers, showing its high popularity. There are counter seats, but I recommend visiting with two or more people rather than alone. Every dish had a creative touch while also offering a gentle flavor with a calm Japanese essence.

The assorted appetizers let you enjoy a variety of small bites, each carefully prepared and highly satisfying. The fried gnocchi with sake lees cream is an unusual combination but pairs well and is an addictive snack. The tuna and avocado seaweed tempura is served with foam soy sauce and avocado sauce. The creaminess of the avocado, the umami of the soy sauce, and the wasabi accent are perfectly balanced and delicious!

The sesame Spanish mackerel is also fragrant and pairs well with alcohol. The specialty clay pot rice features a luxurious combination of "Japanese corn × dried bonito butter × Wagyu beef." It takes about 40 minutes from ordering, so ordering early is the way to go. The freshly cooked rice infused with the aroma of dried bonito and the richness of butter is a must-try dish!

This was a wonderful place that makes you want to explore the Shinsen area even more◎
