I have never had a more friendly chef at a restaurant. The atmosphere he created around preparing the food with the guest seated right in the kitchen was phenomenal. His two support staff were also great supplements.
The way he found time to sit down with us at our table, even though our table was a bit off to the side. He took a genuine interest in our visit to Japan, gave traveling tips and advised on the how to get home.
