Spring Day Trip to Byodo-in Temple (Uji City)

If you’ve ever seen a 10-yen coin, you might recognize Byodo-in Temple! This iconic temple in Uji City is absolutely stunning, especially in spring when the cherry blossoms start to bloom. The Phoenix Hall, with its elegant architecture and reflection in the pond, looks like something out of a painting.

Walking around the temple grounds, I felt a deep sense of history and tranquility. Uji is also famous for its matcha, so grabbing a cup of green tea after exploring the temple made the trip even better. If you’re in Kyoto, a short trip to Byodo-in is totally worth it!
