Zhangjiajie National Park, famous for its towering sandstone pillars that inspired Avatar, was established in 1982 and became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992. We took a high-speed train from Changsha to Zhangjiajie, a 3.5 to 4-hour ride, and then a quick taxi to the park entrance for easy access.
We spent the whole day exploring, starting with a cable car ride to Tianzi Mountain for stunning views, followed by a walk across the Glass Bridge. The park’s breathtaking landscapes, with misty forests and towering peaks, made for an unforgettable adventure from start to finish.
