Soaring above the clouds at Tianmen Mountain 🌄✨
Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is Zhangjiajie’s crown jewel—expect gravity-defying cliffs, glass skywalks, and panoramic cable car views that will make your jaw drop! Every step here is straight out of a movie, surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges and lush valleys.
🗺️ Recommended Route & Must-Do Activities:
Start with the Tianmenshan Cableway (longest cable car ride in the world!) for unbeatable aerial photos—best taken as you ascend and from the platform above Dayong Road. Follow the cliff-hanging walkway, then take the plunge across the famous Glass Skywalk (hold your nerve for the ultimate selfie). Don’t miss the 999 Steps up to Tianmen Cave—posing at the base offers an insta-worthy shot with the monumental arch towering above. Wrap up at the summit’s viewing platforms for a “floating above the world” panorama.
📷 Top Photo Spots:
- Cable car ascent and descent
- Glass Skywalk (shoot your feet and the drop below!)
- Tianmen Cave with dramatic stairwell
- Cliff-edge walkways for wide valley shots
🛎️ Key Visiting Tips & Precautions:
Arrive early (before 9am) for cooler temperatures and lighter crowds; late mornings can get quite busy and weather can change rapidly. Bring layers—a drizzle or mist rolls through often, making a raincoat far more reliable than an umbrella. Wear shoes with good grip for the walkways and stairs. Admission ends at 16:00, so plan your return accordingly!
✨ My personal tip: Take time to simply enjoy the mountain air and scenery—it’s easily one of China’s most spectacular landscapes.
