We made an unplanned stop here to get a quick bite to eat after taking the 2-hour Circle-Line Sightseeing tour and were very happy we stumbled upon this place. It doesn't look like much from the sidewalk but the pizza was delicious and the staff was very friendly.

This was such a nice respite for our family! After a long day of sightseeing in the hot sun & eating at fast food places, we were happy to have a sit-down dinner here. We came over before our Harbor Lights Sunset Cruise, which is pretty much across the street. A nice woman was out on the street to greet us & bring us inside. It's a nice, Greek, family-owned restaurant w/ a big menu. They don't just have pizza! A couple of us had the pizza - 2 BIG slices, which were really good - but a couple of us had the pasta, & my husband had a gyro. He said it was one of the best he's ever had! Nice, quiet restaurant where we could finally relax!

We stopped into 42nd Street Pizza Company on our way to Pier 83 for our New York island cruise. It is a nice, family-run place and the food was quite good. We had the meatball pizza and it was a good way to introduce my little brother to New York style pizza. It was good pizza and came out pretty quick. From what we remember, there is a minimum purchase requirement when dining there and they are very strict about being able to use the bathrooms. (I wish I would have taken a picture of the sign). Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend it if you are looking for a quick bite to eat near the pier.

We stopped there in on your way to or from one of the NYC cruises. It’s, family-owned restaurant - since 1965 and have very reasonable prices were. The pizzas were very tasty The staff was friendly and efficient, the restaurant clean and organized

Great restaurant, satiating burger. I recommend this restaurant. It is next to the circle line which allows to eat just before taking a cruise.

This is a nice, clean, family-owned restaurant which features pizza and Greek food! It has been in the family since 1965 and they are proud of their restaurant and their support of the neighborhood. The staff was friendly and efficient, the Greek gyros that we ordered were delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. It is a great place to stop in on your way to or from one of the NYC cruises!

We were hustling to Circle Line tour and stopped for a quick bite of pizza before boarding - glad we did. Friendly people with good pizza, crispy bottom and served hot.

Stopped here for a bite to eat whilst waiting for our river cruise, the staff was very friendly and the food was good the pizzas are huge, would have no qualms about returning here, and certainly recommend it.

We were at the Intrepid for an early-evening/night event and arrived a bit early before we could get in, so we chanced upon this place as the only eatery that was both nearby and open. We enjoyed the food here, and we'll try it again.

This is a pizza shop in the front and a full diner in the back with tables and servers. It is located in Hells Kitchen. We went there for a quick lunch and it was very good. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The wait staff was friendly as well. We had come from the Javits Center and luckily happened upon this place. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a large selection from their diner menu. There is also a large selection of pizzas which looked and smelled delicious. We all had the Mediterranean Grilled Chicken Breast which was very tasty. We all agreed when next in the area we would return.

Ended up stopping here after being soaking wet.... Got a slice of pizza and a chocolate shake. Delicious pizza. Staff was friendly and attentive. Cute place too.

Found this place in the way back from the Circle line tour. It is spotless clean little place. The pizza sells very well as we observed many people just stoping for slices to go. But the true find was sitting down and looking at the menu. We had the fried zucchini appetizer it was fresh and delicious. The gyros platter was delicious fresh crisp lettuce and fresh sauce with delicious lamb. Then for dessert we had Warm Baklava with a nice fresh expresso. It was a great mom and pop dinning experience.

My friend and I were going on a Circle Line Cruise but I really had to go to the bathroom. So I stopped in this restaurant to use the bathroom. I was "greeted" by a man and a woman and was told I had to be a customer in order to use the bathroom. So I bought a drink and proceeded into the basement to use the bathroom. My friend was FORCED to stay upstairs since she didn't pay. Apparently, they harassed her the entir time I was in the bathroom to either buy something or to get out of the store. They were still harassing her when I came back upstairs. As far as the food goes, I didn't try it. And based on their behavior I would never step back into their store again. I will say the pizza was out on the counter. You could tell it was cold and they had the door to the restaurant open letting bugs in.

Stopped here for a drink before we went to Pier 83 for our cruise and we ended up eating here too. My other half had chicken pittas, which were lush, I had a Rib Eye Steak and that was even better!! The places looks okay, the food looks pretty good but boy oh boy, it tastes SSSOOOO much better. Enjoy; we did!

Very friendly, great food. We were welcomed on arrival. Food was lovely, pizza great. Nice atmosphere. Good value. 2 happy visitors.

The pizza in this place is great!! You will get a really nice taste for a very good price. Is not a place to stay lo g or to go in the plan to have a seatting dinner , but is a good fast dinner

Beautiful fresh food and great hospitality. Burger was really tasty. Chicken souvlaki was amazing! All so fresh and yummy.

We were staying in New York and were looking for simple place to eat. We were wandering in the evening and came across this place in it was reasonable priced the owners were friendly and the place seemed clean and tidy well lit. The owner was friendly and while we waited i read the stories on the wall. it did reminded me of the Greek Cafes in Australia.

We found it by chance after the boat ride at the Statue of Liberty and it was a great surprise! Excellent pizza and primoroso service. We discovered it by chance after the boat trip to the Statue of Liberty and it was a great surprise! Excellent pizza and excellent service.

We were looking for a place to have pizza.. we were told to look for A dining and we found it. The pizza was good, the service was good, kids loved it

We slipped in here for a quick lunch while we waited on our Circle Line cruise. After the Gyro and the Greek Lasagna, I didn't want to leave. This place is the real-deal. The baklava reminded me of an old family friend's from when I was a kid. This family is a blessing to that community.

We happened upon this wonderful restaurant while on the way to Pier 81. We had lunch here thinking we'd go for pizza....don't miss the Greek selections! The food was so good we wanted to return the next day but time didn't allow us to.

Good diner food on 42nd near 12th. Close to circle line. Many choices and fresh. Large room in the back for large parties

One of the best places I have tasted nice food in NewYork. Very good food loved the service was amazing. 🤩 I highly recommend this restaurant.

So my family and I stopped here before going to the statue of liberty and I have to say if the name of your restaurant has "pizza" in it then you shouldn't have such a small area dedicated to those customers wanting pizza. Annoying thing #1. The only way to eat in the bag is if you're ordering from the full menu, but in my opinion. You're stupid. Recent order for linguine with butter and it literally looks like a box of linguine with a little butter included. My daughter's ordered pizza, but it was a little doughy. They enjoyed it. I couldn't order anything because at 3 in the afternoon I couldn't order neither the fish platter nor the fish sandwich so I didn't eat anything. Anything thing #3. My waitress whose name I did not get was the true reason for the title... she was the truely an annoying person. I didn't care for her at all if it was up to me I would have left immediately after sitting. So by default, annoying thing #3 (but truly number one) The last annoying thing is instead of letting customers know ahead of time that it is cash only and let us know when she delivered the check. Annoying thing #4. If I were anyone reading this I would you suggest you avoid this place!

The place is quiet and pleasant unlike anywhere nearby. We found the food tasty and fresh. Like any dining experience, it is better if you are not in a rush to get somewhere.

It is an OK pizza place. Very good slices, you can mix as you want, but nothing special with the place...

Excellent homemade food and dessert, very helpful and kind waiters, excellent prices! Well located near the intrepid museum!

I love the pizza it was so delicious , it was larger than expected! It didn’t disappoint and me and my family had a very good time .😋

This family owned and operated diner sits just a short walk away from the USS Intrepid and Norwegian Cruise Lines, with has fast friendly service. The diner has been in operation since the 1930s and is a city icon. Serving a wide variety of homemade food, there's something for everyone. I recommend this place for casual dining. It has plenty of seating in a comfortable family atmosphere. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who cares very much about his patrons. Don't pass this one up! Pricing is reasonable for the area and portions are generous.

We experienced New York pizza for the first time. We don't have anything close to this good in California. Supposedly the water is what makes it great.

Got off a chilly boat ride and found this place by accident about a block from the docks. Very bright clean decor and very welcoming. Had plug-ins so I could charge my phone, very good coffee, and NY cheesecake. Prices looked good and "slices" smelled great. Only drawback is "cash only".

Food was hot & tasty but the service was horrendous. They got our orders wrong and had to remake the correct ones. This was the closest place to Pier 83 and a short walk, PLEASE NOTE when we finished, they demanded CASH - no cards accepted. Thank heavens we had enough $$on us. This was and is a. ONE AND DONE for us

We had the biggest pizza and a burger delivered to our hotel room upon arrival in New York after a long journey! Amazing Pizza, Amazing Burger...nothing more to say. You HAVE to have the meat feast pizza, you just have to!

A nice comfortable diner right by the water with reasonable prices and a lively Greek gyro pitta in a sit down setting. Very comfortable.

Lovely place, great food, friendly staff. Highly recommend Close to boats on the Hudson, clean restaurant. The kebab is so good

We popped in for a takeaway coffee whilst the other haves stayed longer in the intrepid museum. The food looked great, and there's a dining area at the back. So, when the museum visit finished, we returned for food and several drinks before our circle line cruise. Thank you so much for the welcome, great meal, and conversation.

Went here at 630pm on a Saturday night with my troop of 29 Boy Scouts before boarding the Intrepid. They were fantastic! We ordered eight pizzas and several orders of fries. The food came out fast and fresh as we were in a hurry. Thanks so much to the staff, they were friendly and helpful and welcomed our large and unexpected group without hesitation. A few in our group ordered other things and everything was top notch. And best of all I came in under budget for what I had available for dinner. Authentic Greek food. I will make it a point to go here again the next time I'm in the city and you should too.

Stopped in while waiting for the Circle Line Cruise. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Greek food. Nice atmosphere and great wait staff

The only thing this place has going for it is its proximity to the West Side attractions and Chinese consulate. I ordered a fish fillet that had a terrible off-taste like fish well past its prime. My husband ordered the spaghetti with clams, calamari, and shrimp. The dish too was unsavory. There are signs in the restaurant that the rest rooms are out of order, but they are open to customers. There are also signs that the machine accepting credit cards is out of order, so diners must pay in cash. We wasted about $60 on this sub-par fare. We would have done better at a restaurant further east during its restaurant week specials. This is no way to run an establishment.

Came here on our trip and we had the gyro platter. Fantastic food here, a large variety and great service. Highly recommend to anyone.

After our Circle Line boat Cruise we looking for a good local place to eat, food was great, server was very sweet & helpful.

We wanted the "New York pizza" experience, and this place supplied it! Delicious!! Great service, too. Plug for the Westway Diner for breakfast and lunch!! Another New York experience you should not pass by!

Wonderful pizza! Great hospitality. Owner was very kind and accommodated our school group! She did everything to make our experience very enjoyable! The prices were great And the service was excellent! Highly recommended!

Good pizza, limited English speaking staff though.... Frustrating to try to communicate. Nice staff..

After my trip on the circle line I wanted a quick meal. This place is a 3 minute walk from the circle line box office. The pizza crust and sauce are top notch. I added a bunch of toppings. The milk shakes are really good also. I loved reading the story about the restaurant. What a great history! This is a no brainer if you are going to the intrepid or the circle line or the beast boat tour!

We stopped here before going on a river cruise. Really welcoming, friendly staff. The pizzas were freshly made and delicious. The chicken souvlaki was really good too. All reasonably priced.

Great little spot for lunch. Greek food was awesome and the pizza was massive and delish! Really friendly service too! Would highly recommend!

Fugetaboutit. For $12.50, the Greek salad was very small (two olives and one thin layer of lettuce). The chicken salad sandwich had 2 tablespoons of chicken in a humongous bun. They had no ice for water and water wasn't refilled. There was no salt or pepper. The bathroom was out of order so you couldn't wash your hands. The credit card machine didn't work. We didn't leave a tip and the manager charged out the door demanding one. I replied that they deserved NO tip. I should have said that anyone working in that restaurant with such skimpy food should be ashamed to show his face, let alone expect a tip.

We visited this place for a quick bite before boarding the Circle Line. I had a burger and Hubby had pizza. While I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, it was an OK choice for what we wanted. A little pricey for what it is but only a little. The service was fine although the older lady ( may have been the owner) seemed a little overly attentive, the young waitress was fine.

Great place. Greek gyro and desserts and feel very good welcome. What else can I asked? This store should be sponsored for everybody. It is the last standing family business on 42nd street

I had to pick up a UPS package on 43rd and 11th Ave last week and on my way back to the East Side I was going to take a cross town bus on 42nd St. I was a little hungry so I stopped into the 42nd St. Pizza that is right off 12th Ave. The place was spotless and a lot of tiles, there were some newspaper articles framed on the wall so I read them and found out that this place had a great deal of history. I met the owner Luis Gritsipis and his wife Raquel. Luis is from a small town in Greece and his wife is from Argentina. The restaurant is in the brownstone he has owned since 1965 and has survived 7 hold ups and has turned down $20 million dollars for his property. All around him are high rise buildings and land lords that want to buy him out, but he's not selling. Enough of the history, I had a bowl of home made beef with pasta soup that was delicious and a grilled ham and Swiss cheese with tomato that hit the spot. The menu is massive offering 170 dishes, he does a lot of chicken, fish, home made soups,Greek Gyros, spinach pies and of course Pizza. So if you find yourself on that side of town, do yourself a favor and stop in for one of his many dishes.

The food is decent and atmosphere ok. Kinda annoying that I had to pay $2.50 for the ATM in the establishment. Wasn't too expensive and location is ideal.

We made the short walk over to 42nd street pizza from visiting the U.S.S. Intrepid. Service was friendly and prompt. They kept pushing Greek food on us (I think this is their specialty), but we (i.e., our daughter) were intent on having pizza. It was pretty good. The only negative I have to report is that the bathrooms were practically flooded with water. Otherwise, this had the feel of an authentic, family-owned, ethnic NYC eatery.

Great meal of lamb, rice and pitta and a glass of red was fab, followed by warm baclava and coffee. Great food served by Rose, a really lovely lady. Nice friendly, relaxing vibe to this place,

How lovely these owners are! We stopped in on our way to the water. Typical ny prices but NOT the attitude ! The woman ( owner) was very sweet. We just had pizza and a salad and I can say we enjoyed it. I think I enjoyed the family interaction more than the food! She has a son and daughter that were helping her behind the counter. That's always something that draws me back and makes me suggest places to people- hospitality and a home-y type of feel and taste. It's not a fancy place at all. Casual and clean.

Needed a quick lunch for our family after a sightseeing cruise and before a 2pm show-this was perfect. Fast, yummy, big selection of cold drinks.

Best pizza I have EVER had!! I am not a pizza lover, well I wasn’t until I came here! Absolutely delicious. I’m glad it’s not round the corner as I would increase in size very quickly. Not the largest shop inside but don’t let that put you off. Yum yum yum 😋

This diner hit the spot as we made our way to a harbor cruise. The pizza was delicious! More importantly, the place was spotless and staff was friendly. Haven't found that yet in the city.

Nice clean place close to javits. Got a gyro and while it was pricier than a street vendor it was better quality. If you are looking to get off your feet and eat it's a nice place with nice staff.

Excellent food and pleasant experience! Highly recommended when you are in the area. Definitely recommended for a slice or sit down meal.

Friendly staff and clean and welcoming place. Variety of menus for all tastes and needs. Interesting and special dishes, excellent Greek cuisine

We ordered a pizza slice and a steak and cheese hero. The pizza slice was one that was pre-cooked and then reheated, and the steak was full of gristle - inedible- and the restrooms were filthy. That was enough for us. If you’re passing by , take our advice - and keep on going!

Very friendly staff and experience. We were hurry for cruise and they help us with choice what is prep. fast. Tasty food.

Found this restaurant when waiting for a city lights ferry tour near Pier 83. Tried their suggestion of a more traditional Greek cuisine, Lamb Gyro and a Chicken Souvlaki both were excellent, beer and wine prices very reasonable, great service. The restaurant has an interesting history; I’ll leave that for you to read on their menu.

Very good diner, convenient location to the piers. Friendly and prompt service! Many food options, greek specials, tastes great.

We were so glad we found this place before our Harbor Lights Tour! Delicious pizza made to order very quickly. Great service and very friendly atmosphere.

After 2 x wks in the US, this place is the worst. Firstly we got a large pepperoni pizza, it was clearly not fresh as it was on our table in minutes, then I noticed the entire pizza was covered in cooking oil. The pizza was so greasey I had to use wash my hands after Eating! This restaurant, I use the term loosely as this place does an in justice to restaurants, does not accept credit cards. Which we we only informed when we went to pay I said to the lady serving us, and she politely replied I know nothing.. There is an ATM in the place but after been robbed by paying high prices for extremely poor quality food, we want to a bank to get money out. To summarise, extremely poor quality food which was not fresh, bad service and the place really looks dingy. Best this about the place is the door to Street once you pass it you will never go back.

This is a hidden little gem. Found it on the way back from a boat trip. Had the soup and pizza and it was delicious. The staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommended. Well worth a visit.

Duck into this historical building on your way to/from your NY Cruise or visit to the INTREPID .. .. Neat little family-owned pizzeria (Greek-run actually) and their GYROs are probably pretty good .. .. PIZZA was very good and the staff was friendly .. .. And, the A/C was working wonderfully ;))) .. .. Don't be afraid to pop in for a cool drink or pizza > You won't be sorry .. ..

Best meal we had in NY so far - Greek souvlaki and kids could get pizza by the slice. Milkshake was nice and thick as well. Service was fast and friendly.

Lovely Gyros with a lovely Greek salad and chips. Great service. Would highly recommend. Very friendly and welcoming.

Had to fill up my tum before Circle Line Cruise - don't wanna be foraging @ 9pm so dropped by this eatery. Pizza's a little garden variety but I do recommend the Alfredo and chicken linguini. Best I ever had. Only concern is owner family talking very loudly about MH370 debris being found and all... thus knock off one star.

We ate lunch here before circle line cruise. We had two hamburgers and greek plate, not a gyro (lamb, pita, rice), 4 beers and 1 soft drink. Total was $78! Absolutely crazy. This is a snack bar type restaurant, not fine dining. WAY overpriced and not very good.

There is a very good smiling welcome The service is fast The cuisine is very good we recommend this restaurant even with family

I couldn't believe our luck when we stumbled upon the locally owned Greek and pizza diner...good food reasonable prices..make this truly a rare find..check it out you,ll be surprised and help support a family who h has owned the place since 1937.amazing.

We had booked tickets on the nearby Circle Line for a Island cruise, but had time to spare before we set off. As a result we decided to find a local place to eat, happily coming across this restaurant. Don’t be put off from the basic outer image, this is an old business that knows how to demonstrate its NYC history in its food. The menu proudly tells you of the millions that have been offered to the owners to sell the business so that the space can be redeveloped, these offers continue to be rejected. We only wanted a quick snack but the menu gave is lots of options, and the food coming out to other tables looked truly authentic. The staff were top drawer and could not have done more to assist us, thank you. I had not planned to visit here but I am very glad I did. If you are going for a trip with the Circle Line and have a bit of spare time why don’t you support this fantastic business, I think you too will be pleased.

Reasonable, home cooking style Greek food. The waitress was very helpful with our meal options. The salad was excellent, but overall, not the best food we had in NYC. "A" score for service!

We ate very well. Hearty dishes. Going with group of friends and family, they let us pay for family. I ordered chicken with Greek sauce and it was very good.
Good food and ambience
Great spot for a quick lunch where the food is made fresh. The gyro was amazing. And get the pizza; it was hot and delicious.
