While on tour, our guide stopped us off at this grocery store (market) and were directed to the hot and cold buffet. Totally lots of varieties of different foods. You pay by the weight. The items we picked were from both sections and we purchased ample food. If I remember correctly, it is $7.99 lb. total bill was $26.00 for 2 people with 2 pops which was quite reasonable. It was good and I would go back.

After a few expensive dinners that had no taste, we stopped by this market and were able to pick lots of different food for a great price (per pound). We were able to sit outside as well inside. Do not mind the staff, some are probably tired of standing on their feet all day, the food is worth it!

Had sandwiches made and they were excellent. This market has just about everything imaginable. It all looked so good. We just had the sandwiches and sodas though. If in NYC again we will definitely seek out this deli/market for some good eats.

I used to go to this place for the quality of the sushi at least 3 times a week, but lately I don't know why they changed company Oh god there is no quality anymore, the rice is super dry, there is no flavor between the pieces and the portions are small and the prices have gone up absurdly!

Our bus tour dropped us at Fulton Street Market for a lunch break. This place had hot and cold buffet, small food prep kiosks, an in house bakery, and every imaginable item to pick up and build a scrumptious meal on the run. Food was delicious, lots of vegetarian choices, vast array of fresh choices. If I was ever in the vicinity again, it would be a go to place for some good food, accommodating for pick up and go, with containers and utensils provided. Small eat in area, too.

We had a group of 14 friends touring the city. We walked over from the 9-11 Memorial. Short walk to a great place for a group. Lots of variety - cold food and hot food. You grab a plate and fill it with food of your choosing. I had tomato mozzarella salad - teriyaki chicken - lo mien - and some meatballs! They had a yogurt / fruit / granola bar that was yummy. Nice place to eat within a grocery store. I would go back- not fancy but I liked it just fine.

I did not know where to start as the selection of both hot and cold food such as salads was enormous. I ended up getting several chicken dishes...one with mushrooms, another with pineapple, a garlic ginger breaded chicken dish, fried rice, green beans, mashed potatoes and turkey slices. My mom who was with me had a fresh fruit salad. Be careful with your portions as the food is calculated by weight at the check out counter. An outdoor patio with metal chairs and tables provides a nice place to eat in the summer.

While doing the city tour, our tour guide took us here for lunch and we were satisfied! They have great variety of food for everyone. Salad bar, Chinese food, pasta, name it, they have it. It is affordable. If you are on a budget while you are in NYC this will be your place. They have a lot of sitting areas, indoor and outdoor. Self serve, you pick up what you want, buffet style and you go pay at the cashier. I had pasta, salad, some meat and fruits for under $10. What a deal!

We stayed in the Financial District and as on all of our vacations, we like to visit a grocery store to pick up bottled water, fresh fruits, etc., and to mingle with locals. Even better if it's not a chain store. There are two levels to the market - with stairs/elevator to get downstairs from street level. There is a hot table with quite an array of entrees, and a cold table with salads, but the hot entrees, although full, looked like they had sat there for a while and did not appear appetizing. The variety of groceries was surprising because it doesn't look very big. The street level also seemed to have more gourmet and organic choices, and the bottom level was where most of the shoppers were. The cashiers are quick and efficient but not very friendly. But you can most likely get what you're looking for - loved the ambience of a small town grocery store in Manhattan - made me feel so at home.

My wife and I stayed in FiDi for a five week holiday and 55 Fulton was one of our great local grocery stores. A good selection of fresh fruits & vegetables, cold drinks, great deli cheeses & cold cuts, fresh bakery items, hot buffet, and downstairs a regular supermarket. Butchery section is small but balanced by an extensive frozen food section. Some downstairs isles are quite narrow and you can’t pass another shopping cart. A good range of choices for dry foods, dairy, snacks and the necessities of life - sugar & tea bags 😃 Staff are friendly and also offer a loyalty discount card if staying in the area for a while. Only downside we found is the checkouts can be very slow with lines waiting at busy times. Great plant nursery out front which brings some lovely greenery to a city landscape. Nice parks on the up-hill and behind to enjoy a takeaway meal or snack. Highly recommended even if just wanting an economical meals and a break from the city for a while. Also has clean, fresh restrooms 👍

This place sells some of the best sandwiches I have ever had! Head over to the back of the store towards the deli and buy some of their pre-prepared sandwiches! They're massive and have a large selection which will suit everyone. Plus they taste AMAZING! Will definitely be coming back here if I'm ever back in NY!

The food and products from this place is not that much different than the usual American supermarkets and grocery stores. It has a fairly good variety of items, although the prices are not cheap. The location is in the southern part of Lower Manhattan but a bit far from the Financial District. It's convenient in terms of having lots of options for grab-and-go takeouts and prepared foods. I couldn't find much space for people to sit down and eat though, but it could be because the patio was closed for the winter.

Arrived to the 55 fulton market at lunch time, they offers a verity of food (salads, hot dishes, soups, and more stuff). It was nice and affordable. Nice stop.

Meh all around. Been several times. Much better around lunch as opposed to dinner hours when hot table food appears to have been sitting since lunch. Bakery case items look beautiful and tasty, tempted enough to try twice and both times were less than fresh so won’t do that again. Best thing about this place is the pre cut fresh fruit...always seems fresh and iseasonal. Perfect for grab and go, other items are ok...you’ll fine better not lunch similar selections all over this neighborhood, especially for lunch.

If you have a picky crew, this is a great stop to appease all their appetites. Hot/Cold deli food and lots of options to choose from. The quality, taste and price very good for a buffet. It was a great choice for a tour lunch stop and we ate out on their enclosed patio.

Friendly, efficient service and a great value. Omelette, potatoes, bagel and a large coffee for less than $10. Food tastes great.

55 Fulton is a very good place for a simple downtown lunch. Plenty of food on 1st floor, many different flavors for every taste. Vegetables and fruits are very good and welcome. A small and simple room upstairs if you want to eat on site. A good practical place to recharge batteries.

We happened upon this place the day we found the South Street Seaport was closed. If you your in or around the financial district this place is worth a stop.

Great place to grab a quick cold (or hot!) lunch. The pay per pound buffet is well worth it. I opted for a cold buffet. Just need to watch the times, it can get busy with long lines during lunch. Plus side is that they move super quickly. Silverware is provided upon payment at the registers.

Our group stopped here for lunch before boarding a tour boat. I had delicious sushi and a very tasty bowl of fruit that I selected from the salad bar. There were also hot entrees, pre-made sandwiches, tons of vegetables, desserts and drinks available. There were plenty of tables upstairs (a little sticky) if you want to eat there or you could take everything out. The prices were reasonable and the food looked fresh and appetizing. They get 5 stars for convenience, price and variety. Plus this is my favorite way to eat -- a little of this, a little of that.

Offers a huge variety of produce, groceries, bakery items, food to go. Service at the registers however is ALWAYS slow. Staff not very friendly but helpful if asked.

Stopped in the neighborhood for lunch before our water taxi cruise to the Statue of Liberty. So glad we stopped here instead of getting fast food. Lots of options for all tastes--everything from salad to sushi to down home southern cooking. Food bar is by weight, lots of snacks to be purchased in the market as well. A bit pricey, but this is New York!

This is a nice little stop if you have a group of folks and are in the area of China Town, as they offer a wide variety of hot foods for sale at reasonable prices, also it is a regular supermarket so one can find other goodies if they are only slightly hungry. The food was decent and prices were fair.

Was hosting a business group and the tour guide I hired stopped at Fulton street during lunch. I think this area and market is a good choice because there are a variety of food options. Inside this market are a bunch of different buffet style serving areas along with a small grocery store. You can get, fried chicken, Chinese, salads and many other styles of food. A bonus, and probably another reason the tour guide stopped here, is a clean bathroom. A nice place if you want a variety of options for lunch.

We visited this food outlet on a one day tour of NYC. There was a huge choice of preprepared foods, hot and cold. Just grab a plate and build your meal. Your selected meal is weighed at the checkout and you pay for how much you have loaded onto your plate. Excellent value for good quality food. Can either take out or eat in. We are in. Would definitely go back

Visiting Manhattan on foot we walked across the island down Fulton St looking for somewhere to have a snack. We noticed this supermarket and discovered they had an excellent deli counter as well as self service buffet and hot and cold drinks. Seating is available outside. We had self service seafood salads and they were very good. Quick and easy!

stopped by this market after taking the Horn blower cruise around the statue of Liberty, for some lunch, its like a small whole foods type market with a serve yourself meal from the salad and hot bar, you can then go out to the tables in front of the Market and watch the people go by which is interesting in itself, the food was good,my meat dish was a little salty but otherwise good, I liked it because you can serve yourself small portions from there selections or for however hungry you are then you pay for it by the Pound.

We were on a tour and stopped to eat. We had several choices at this location and decided to eat at 55 Fulton Market at the suggestion of the tour guide. Soooo glad we did. This is a grocery store with a buffet. The food was sooooo delicious! And such variety with lots of vegetables, meats, sea food, and desserts! We wished that we had discovered this place at the beginning of our visit. We would have eaten here every day. Loved it. By the way o got the seafood and lots of vegetables and fruit. You pay by the pound. Worth every penny!!

In the South Street Seaport area, 55 Fulton Market is not only a place to pick up items that you need on a daily basis as it is a well stocked supermarket, but it has a great deli department, a great bakery department and a full choice of hot food for takeout. The store is open late every night which makes it great for picking up those items you need on the way home after a day out in the city.

My kids and fellow co-workers love going here to order lunch. Good service most times. Food very good with hot and cold items. Sell sushi, pizza, heroes, etc. Nice supermarket also.

Absolutely hands down, THE WORST grocery store in FiDi. Staff unfriendly, Manager rude, unprofessional. Overpriced items. Sale items out of stock. Items mis-labelled. Only benefit is you shop here is the self-service check out feature where you do not need to deal with the incompetent and indifferent people there. Shop at Whole Foods Market or Brooklyn Fare where prices may be similar or better and have a much, much better shopping experience.

Stopped here for a quick lunch on our USA guided bus tour. Which was a great place to get a quick lunch. excellent choice of hot and cold buffet foods Something for everyone salads fruits sandwiches pizza and soup. Throughly enjoyed this lunch and was that bit different. Perfect lunch .

A poor excuse for a supermarket, items here are regularly 50 cents to several dollars per item more expensive than Whole Foods and the quality isn't nearly as good. Avoid it, if possible.

We were nearby while sightseeing in the City and stopped for a quick lunch. The food was good but not great and service was relatively good. It was an easy and quick answer to our lunch needs.

Was introduced to this place while on a tour and was such a pleasure. Although this was a supermarket the choices on the hot bar were great. There is something for everyone from salads to soups and a variety of other ethnic foods to choose from. There are also American favs if you're traveling with kids or picky eaters (made to order pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc). And since it is a supermarket you can always pick up snacks to keep on hand while you're walking or that you may need while on your trip. Reasonably priced for New York.

I was visiting my son and needed to pick up some groceries. I went to this market and was delighted! The main attraction for me was the food court! Such a diverse choice of hot and cold food of all types, I couldn't make up my mind. I went on two separate days for lunch [I was only in NYC four days]. I tried lots of different food, and it was all delicious. I highly recommend the roasted pork over rice. They have nice tables outside where you can eat . It's great!

We got omelet wraps and enjoy the 2 different ones we ate. Service was good. Smoothie was excellent. Prices were average for NYC. (Pricey for not in the city)

Plus get 10% off if a student or retired. Food buffet and lower level had the less expensive items, some upstairs items are overpriced, but overall excellent grocery store. Best in the area by far.

Our family of four ate at 55 Fulton Market for lunch during one of the stops on our on guided tour of New York. The food was great and the buffet had plenty of variety so everyone's taste buds were satisfied. They had a hot and cold buffet and the market had fresh fruit and vegetables and bakery items. The fish we had (salmon) was cooked perfectly. Our daughter said the fried chicken was good also. I would recommend this for a lunch stop. We ate outside at their tables and just enjoyed the great food and sunshine. They also had a flower shop and plant area that was pretty with healthy plants. I would highly recommend dropping in at 55 Fulton Market for a lunch stop while you are in the area.

Stopped for lunch here whilst on a bus tour of N.Y.C. It is a supermarket which has a large area of help yourself fresh food which includes both hot and cold items. You start by picking up a container (choice of sizes) fill it up with as much as you want before paying by weight at the checkout. There is an outside area, part of it covered, where you can eat your purchases. Worth a return visit if you are in the area.

You can't beat 55 Fulton Market at lunch time! The store has a wide variety of pre-packages hot lunch items (we had red beans, rice and grilled chicken), as well as a hot bar where you can have a huge selection of hot meats, veggies, and sides for $9.99 per pound. There's also cold sandwiches, sweets, sushi, and other items. There is outdoor seating plus dining seating above the main floor. They also have a full grocery store so there is an abundance of fresh vegetables, fruits, meats and anything you may need -- right on Fulton Street - just about a 6 minute walk from the One World Trade Center Plaza and the Millennium Hilton New York Downtown. We loved discovering this market!

We ate here while on a NYC tour, and it was amazing. There's something for every palate and diet preferences. Yummy!!!!

An easy walk from One WTC towards Brooklyn Bridge, a great place to stop for food. Enough choice in the deli to keep any one happy, kept well replenished -at least based on the two times I stopped there. Decent places to sit outside or under shelter for a spot of people watching.

Buffet style with the best selection of hot and cold items. Real food that tastes fantastic. All you can eat but you pay by the pound.

A great location in the Fulton south port area, it is full of American goods Fresh food for a lunch box or to prepare your dinner it is really good !! Big choice for many area (cheese, deserts, sushi, vegetables ...) Really interesting Of course it is expensive but so fresh and diverse !

Our tour guide recommended this place due to the variety of food offerings. It didn’t disappointed us. It is a supermarket with an area that sells food to go or enjoy in their sitting space. It had hot food, a variety of salads both pre-made and ordered to taste and fruits. Anyone from any nationality can find something tasty here. The food is awesome! It was certainly a great choice!

Our tour guide dropped us off this place for lunch. They had everything. You could find whatever you would like to snack on. Great deli and buffet.

On a tour, our guide took us to eat lunch at the Fulton Market before our water taxi trip around the harbor. It was a perfect stop for a quick bite. There were food bars filled with fresh dishes, from fruit, salad and soup to lo mein, broiled fish and short ribs. Cold things were cold. Hot dishes were steaming. They cover all the bases, too, including vegetarian or gluten free. The café is in the midst of a full market, so there is little or no "atmosphere." Food is self-serve and you are charged by the plate's weight. It is hard not to let your eyes overestimate what your stomach can hold! You may have to stand in line to check out, but the lines moved quickly. If you get wine or beer, you eat at tables outside. Otherwise, there are indoor tables upstairs. All in all, a good value and easy stop while sightseeing in the area. It appeared that many from the neighborhood agree. In short, if you are hungry and you cannot find something you like to eat here, then you are not really hungry!

Excellent Location Fresh Buffet available all day. Buy early not so fresh after hours Bakery Deli and complete service supermarket, visit often. Close to One World Trade clean and great place for your supply purchase. Employees could be friendlier but its NY do not expect friendly people at all, that way when you neet them, it will be a pleasant surprise.

Very nice range of ready made food to take away if you don't want to go to restaurants. Lots of organic and high quality products

Our tour stopped here for lunch. There was a good variety of hot and cold food options for eating on site. The market area was good for picking up some fruit and other snacks for the hotel room.

This is a great place for a quick meal. This is a "by the pound" buffet style dining. It is great in that you can sample a lot of different foods and you have total portion control. After you pay for the food, there are tables inside the market and outside where you can enjoy the meal. *The deli is located within about four blocks of the South Street TKTS office.

We were on a 1-day tour of NYC, and our tour guide took us here. (We could have eaten at McDonald's across the street, as well as a pizza place and something else.) The food on the buffet was quite varied and looked very fresh, even if a bit expensive for lunch. My husband had food off the buffet (salmon, fried brown rice, and fresh watermelon and strawberries). I taste-tested some of the Chinese meats and found that the Bugogli marinated beef was WONDERFUL. Got a hearty-size portion along with brown rice and Kimchi. Loved loved loved it!

Great selection of beers, all available cold, and of deli items and prepared foods. Well-stocked produce, meat and dairy. Only two brands of wine of mediocre quality, none cold. More notable for convenience than excellence..

Excellent offer of quality foods, ready meals to take and eat in their diner, very satisfied, good prices

Stopped here for a quick and casual lunch during an all day city tour. Bright and clean location with varied hot/cold buffet style options by weight with seating and restroom facilities. Enjoyed perusing the grocery options available to locals and since it was the holidays there was a Christmas tree lot just outside the market. Was quite entertaining to watch a local haggle over a $75 five foot tree!
Good market
55 Fulton Market is a nice market place. There are lots of food places, including a supermarket. I noted buffet places to obtain snacks that are both hot and cold. There is a good variety. You can choose your food, and then pay for it by weight. The toilet/bathroom facilities are good.
