We walked into china town to find there was hundreds of restaurants and didn't know which one to choose so we decided to go to the first one that appeared on Google with a reasonable review.... We arrived at this restaurant and after entering we realised that there was a huge language barrier... We got given the option of either barbecue or hot pot (we think) and we chose barbecue hoping for a meat based meal. The waitress then made us chose meat that we liked and after a while raw meat got brought to our table and a cover in the middle of the table was removed which uncovered elements that allowed cooking at the table. As you can imagine we were shocked as a buffet in the UK is a self service of a chose of already cooked Chinese meals. The meat was cooked in front of us at the table and we helped our selves to Chinese sauces from a separate table. The food was fantastic especially the belly pork and the experience was unreal! I would strongly recommend this restaurant although perhaps not what most would expect from a Chinese buffet. I have dropped a mark for the language barrier as if it wasn't for my partner I wouldn't have been able to proceed as I didn't have a clue what the waitress was talking about.

We have a party of sixteen and they put us in a room that should fit ten. The waiter tried his best to take orders and explained how the restaurant works. We have the combo which includes the hot pot and BBQ. Great food selection, but the food took up the whole table. Should have ordered less, but we did not want to wait for the reorder. The food were plenty, but as with any hot pot were tasteless. Same for the BBQ. Need to get the right sauce. The wait staff was great, very helpful and cooks all the BBQ items. The food selection was great, beef, pork, chicken, lamb, all kinds of vegetables and a couple of funky Chinese items (pig blood, intestines, etc. Will not come back with a big group, might comeback with a small party (under 10).

At first I hated having too many choices. You choose all the ingredients and the Base soup and the veggies and everything. However, once I got the hang of it, it was great. Everything was very tasty both times we went. The BBQ was cooked differently in each time but tasted great. Better make a reservation if you don't want to wait an hour.

Never again, I was on hot pot and it was awful, I chose original and spicy base and original was tasteless spicy was too spicy. I ordered a lot of veggies and I got only corn spinach and cabbage.

this is really amazing experience, get a hot pot buffet, it is 30 dollars but well worth it. you can then select as much food as you want and cook in the pot or on the hot stove on your table. Don't cook anything if you don't intend to eat it or you are full though because they will charge you for wastage. If your having a birthday, tell them at reception, you will get a very crazy experience. The staff are brilliant and the food is amazing and nothing like the Chinese food you get in the UK

We found this gem purely by accident while staying in the LES (Allen St) in Chinatown while walking looking for an early dinner. Just walked in and sat down having no idea of the special treat that awaited us. Once we figured out the menu and how to order we were delighted with the whole concept. You can order Hot Pot or barbecue with a wide selection of choices and it’s all you can eat as well. Then they fire up the grill at the table and you cook your selections which are excellent. There is also a sauce bar to use for dipping. For around $30 per person it a pretty good deal for New York and a great spot to enjoy food and conversation. The staff was patient, pleasant, and very helpful and our server even helped us order and cook the food. When in the Lower East Side and Chinatown I highly recommend this location.

Been here twice, once for dinner (packed and noisy) once for lunch (delightful) and both times the food was terrific!!! The best items in my opinion are the lamb, pork, beef, and fish. The fish is to die for!!! Stay away from the squid (tough). The vegetables are very good - I like the winter melon and the squash for variety from the leafy kinds. The shrimp was ok - fish was infinitely better. You mix your own dipping sauces from a decent variety of condiments. You get to choose as much food as you can eat within 2 hours. You get to choose 2 broths. If you can tolerate spicy food, make one of your broths the hot one which comes lafen with chilies and Szechuan peppercorns. The pork bone broth is a good light but tasty broth as an alternate. The broth in which you cook your meat/seafood/veggies can come as a single selection or two broths in a divided pot, which is placed on an induction cooker set within your table. Dip, cook, remove and dunk in your sauce and enjoy! The BBQ is good too, but just way too much food for us!

We've been coming here for YEARS. Food, service, and quality have been steadily declining through the years. Now they force all guests to get the same items, regardless in a scummy effort to rip people off. The service has gone to hell with the staff being lazy and unwilling to help along with jacked up prices to top it all off. And the clientele has severely degraded. It is no longer enjoyable for us to come here. Plenty of alternatives at this point to choose from. I suggest you take a look elsewhere.

Very complete BBQ for a fixed price (plus tip). Great variety of options and sauce. The person who served me and prepared the BBQ did not speak much English so it was difficult to understand the explanations. Also very rich and good experience.

Great choices and selections of hot pot. Flavorful and savory. Fish cut, Fish and pork balls are really good. The curry flavor broth is a must have. But wait is forever. They are fast, so you must pick your choices right away because you also have other people waiting however, the staff do not rush you. Birthday person eats for free!!!! Just show the ID for birthday discount!

Went there on a Friday night for dinner around 6 pm and it were busy, very busy! Could get a table until 7:30 pm which were enough time. Therefore had a very good Hot Pot! The only small upset, you can't order half half because everybody is getting his own pot. We instead order on e hot and one original which were also working out. In total better reserve a table or you have time to wait for delicious food!

Good choices for soup base like pork bone, curry, chinese herbs, spicy (my fave), among others; wide array of sauces to mix; perfect for small amd big groups

For less than $30 per person, you cannot get a more abundant and high-quality Korean BBQ and/or hotpot experience. With teenagers, AYCE are our favorite restaurants but most do not feed our foodie-souls. 99 Flavor Taste is EXTRAORDINARY! they accept reservations ... offer you hot tea while you wait ... secure your jackets in a plastic bag to protect them from the delectable smells ... and will bring, prepare and COOK FOR YOU endless amounts of beautiful meats, seafood and vegetables. Order the shrimp just to enjoy watching them not just butterfly them but clean the crappy stuff one by one. Then enjoy the hand-mixed garlic, scallion oil they make for. Bountiful vegetables come with an amazing concoction of hoisin / pancake sauce with garlic, chili oil and scallion. At the the end of the divine meal experience, they give you not only hand-wipes but also GUM! talk about anticipating and meeting your every need. The wait-staff are all equally impressive - working non-stop around the restaurant, helping each other, ensuring every table is cared for. They'll bring you water before you have to ask for a refill, and change-up your grill pan before you finish thinking "we should change up ..." THANK YOU 99 Flavor Taste. We will most definitely be back!

Very nice hotpot place on grand street. Price is very reasonable, food is good and bbq is great too! Not as spicy as I would like but I eat very spicy. My place to go for hot pot in the city!

This place is true to measure and a great place to socialize while you eat. Hot pot is a very communal experience and a fun activity in and of itself The waits can be long so be prepared, there are also no reservations. Personally, I’m not craving to come here but I’m always happy when I do. Definitely worth a visit

wouldn't have believed this if I hadn't seen it first hand. Just do yourself a favor and make a reservation. I made a reservation to come here with my friends for 5pm on a Tuesday night, thinking it was probably unnecessary...until we walked in and it was PACKED. We waited a few minutes as they got our table ready but not having to wait in the queue was clutch. My friend and I opted for the hot pot while the other opted for the BBQ (which I'll have to come back for next time!). I was very impressed by the attentiveness of the service. There was never a delay in checking in on what else we wanted to order next as we wrapped up the previous dishes or in the cooking of the BBQ. I LOVED the fish balls and the fish fillet was probably the best I've had at a hot pot place (sorry, Little Sheep Mongolian). However, I thought the beef tripe could have been fresher. Pretty extensive menu for AYCE and very affordable too. Don't forget to get your free ice cream with your Yelp check in and show up +/- 3 days of your birthday with a cake and get a free meal!

For $23.99, it offers unlimited hotpot buffet. The spicy hot pot broth not as spicy as i’d Like, but quiet some options for beef, lamb, shrimp, octopus, finish and vegetables. Great for reunion and-or place to meet, have a long conversation. Service can be warmer but they all nice. Place is big and there’s line even early in the day. They offer quite a few different broth. Spicy is not Szechuan hot pot spicy, but I can understand not many people have stomach for that type of spicy.

The restaurant is a true gem in the East Village. The value for what you get is unheard of in New York city. I like that they offer many bases of a broth and how their food is very fresh. Their vegetable platters are very proportionate to the amount of people at the table. I would definitely bring my friends to the restaurant on cold winter nights. So happy I found this place on Seated.

Best meal we had in New York. We went there not really knowing what we were in for. We were starving and practically rolled out of there. The food is plentiful, fresh and tastes amazing. We had the barbecue. We came back a few days later with friends. Food was just as good, husband had the hot pot this time and loved it. Staff were really kind and courteous. Please keep in mind that you can make your own sauces, which is both fun and can level up your meal, as the bbq isn't big on seasoning. I would also like to compliment two members of staff, Easton and Elisa. They're both a total delight and Elisa has the most infectious smile you'll ever see. Will definitely recommend to everyone going to NY.

Grill is too slow. Hotpots served rapidly so there on five of us were eating while the others were waiting. Good hotpot and grill but the surprise comes at the end with payement! We were a table of five and wanted to pay with 3 different credit card, they only accept 2! And you get a discount if you pay by cash, not sure it is legal!!! From where I come from it is NOT.

All you can eat hot pot or BBQ in Chinatown location. This place is very popular and they give you as much as you can eat in two hours for a reasonable price. We went on a Saturday and there was a long wait so we highly recommend advance reservations. We enjoyed the hot pot and they have a number of choices for the base broth. There are many choices of meat, fish, vegetables and noodles included but they also have optional "side dishes" which are not necessary since they will keep bringing choices from the basic menu. We enjoyed, beef, lamb, pork, shrimp and squid. For the more venturesome they offer more exotic choices like tripe, pigs brain and chicken hearts.

This restaurant was close to our hotel on a recent visit to NYC. It was always packed when we would walk by on our way from the subway. The first night we tried to eat there, it was fully booked, so I made reservations for the next night. It was quite the experience! We were unsure how to order, but were helped by guests at the next table! The two options were hot pot or a grill barbecue. Choices within those category were varied and it was all you can eat! We chose the hot pot option and really enjoyed it! It seemed like a very authentic place and I’d recommend giving it a try if you find yourself nearby.

The bathrooms are dirty, the service is poor (no cake slicing), I can't understand their English, and my Mandarin (which I've used in professional settings) is much more advanced so not sure which they insist on using incomprehensible English. I will never come again after many years of coming here. The waitstaff stands there and does nothing. We experienced food poisoning.

We had not booked for dinner for seven adventurous guys so saw this restaurant whilst walking through Chinatown and thought we would give it a go. We eat at Chinese restaurants regularly but were not as familiar with this authentic style of steam pot and barbecue. Nevertheless we gave it a go. Our waitress was thoroughly unhelpful, which was not assisted by her poor English. I have no issue with that as we were in Chinatown but her lack of explanation was not very helpful and she did not seek the assistance of anyone else who had better English. when we asked about dim sum she said that they did not do that even when we pointed out that the table next to us were eating it. We persevered and with little help chose some items from the menu for barbecue and steampot. The dinner was nice and an experience, if a little bland. It was only on leaving we noticed a large area (out of sight of our table) in which sauces (e.g. Hoi Sin) and condiments (e.g. Soy sauce) were freely available. This had not been shown or mentioned to us and would have greatly enhanced our meal. Not a great show when we had paid over $350 before seeing this.

We visited and had the hotpot for lunch we had the spicy, normal and pork bone broth. The spicy was not hot but the others were tasteless. They only came twice to us to see if we neede anything and in the end never came back even though we had eaten everything and were ready for more. They gave us the bill and demanded a 20% minimum service charge!!Disgraceful seen as though service was none existant and you do everthing yourself. The place itself is not clean and poorly decorated.I would never eat here again

Its a Korean BBQ and Taiwanese Hot pot place. But basically they cook the food for you and serve unlimited different cuts of Meats and seafoods, and different sides etc. They also have different sauces, flavors etc.

Definitely recommend eating here it is amazing! We chose the all you can eat bbq option and were not disappointed, cooked at our table and able to order any meat or fish we wanted with a variety of sauces! Amazing food, everyone should visit!

The food was great! We had BBQ, the steak was tender, the shrimp was fresh and the boys who cooked it at our table were hot and adorable!

We decided to try out this hotpot that many people talk about. Got there Sunday night at 8:00 pm and this place was packed. For a party of 4, wait time was 1:30 hours. Dam that's long but hey let's give it a try. While waiting for table, the wait staff was constantly offering tea, small condiments and also offered the large plastic bag to put your jackets in. So at least when you leave, your jackets didn't smell. We sat down waiter came over and ask us what soup base we would like. We choose regular not spicy and the other soup base spicy. They have a good selection of meat, vegetables, noodles, and shrimp, squid . Not much seafood for free. The wait staff was constantly changing your dirty plates and adding water to maintain the hot pot boil. They are always attentive and had no issues getting what food you ask for with no wait time and a smile on their faces. Not like other hotpot places I have gone to. Great loud noisy atmosphere. And you don't feel rushed. Good brought out was all fresh. No issues at all. Enjoy

The food and the service was great overall! We did hot pot and bbq which was a lot of food.We made a reservation in advance which is recommended if you don't want to wait on line for long. We will definitely come back!

All you can eat hot pot. What could be better. Wide selection of meat, seafood, and vegetable. Good selection of broths, all excellent. Frankly, what they brought out in first round was almost enough. (But nice to know you could order more). Fun vibe as well.

My niece & I had seen this place before in passing on night. Decided to finally try it. Pleasant surprise. We had a 1hr wait time(walk-in). They take your phone number. You'll receive a text, which shows you, your place on line. We headed out to a bar around the corner for a drink/appetizer to kill time. As we headed back to restaurant, we had an additional 10 minute wait time, (clearing tables). Once seated , ouy waitress came and took out order. (Protein: duck, curry chicken, pepper steak, shrimps, Veggie: corn, aspagarus, potato) We had a pitcher of ice tea. They have an area where you get your sauces to use on your meats. (example: parsley chopped garlic, soy sauce, hot oil) Everything was nice! Food flavorful! At the end, they have ice cream, don't forget to get a cup

My wife and I came here to eat on our anniversary at the recommendation of our daughter. We had the Duo Hotpot broth ... We did Herbal and pork for the broth and then tried pork, chicken, beef, fish balls, octopus, shrimp with potatoes, rice noodles, mushrooms, spinach and we drank watermelon juice ... I have to say ... the broths didn't do anything for me ... I'm sure they have some purpose but they weren't different enough for me to notice ... The proteins were good, but not amazing ... The best part? The dipping sauces. My wife made two dipping sauces. One was soy sauce, cilantro, green onion and garlic and the other was soy sauce, wasabi and sweet chili .... If it wasn't for the sauces the food would literally have had zero flavor. Now .... It was fun .. Cooking the food was neat ... The all you can eat with a 2 hour limit was also cool ... but gourmet it is not. If you're looking for a fun night out and are adventurous ... Try this place ... But one big piece of advice ... MAKE RESERVATIONS otherwise they drop you in a booth with strangers and if you both want a hot pot or both want BBQ ... You're out of luck because each booth only has one grill and one hotpot burner ... Try it.

The food was delicious and the tea amazing. The server was very helpful and knowledgeable and helped me to have a really outstanding experience. The all you can eat at an affordable price is a real draw. The restaurant was very well maintained and everything was super clean and relaxing.

The all-you-can-eat Hot Pot was fun! You choose a "soup" which is a pot of broth. We chose two: spicy and pig bone. Then, we chose our meats and veggies. We had fun creating our own dipping sauces, too! Took a chance I this place and it was a success!

Went earlier this week with a group of 12 for a birthday party. We were given a room with 10 stations for hot pots & 2 grills for bbq. The AC functioned well to keep us from cooking ourselves. We tried just about every hot pot but I have to say I'm partial to the Spicy & the Chinese herbal but with some added chili oil for spice. The selection of meats & vegetables is impressive and the freshness was pleasantly surprising. We tried a lot and the staff just kept it coming. With $3 beers we thoroughly enjoyed our night. Our waiter was fun and did a good job but was obviously busy with multiple tables so somethings took a little while. The only downside was the beers weren't quite ice cold as they were kept in tubs with some ice instead of in a cooler. You can't beat the flat-rate food price especially when doing group dinners.

If you love real Asian food and not the “simplified commercial” this is a high recommended place ! It’s all you can eat for a defined price, but please no waste ! I ate so much and it was so goooooood!

We made a reservation at 99 Favor Taste for a Saturday night, a month in advance. The reservation was at 7:30 pm, and we did not get a table til 8:15 pm. This is the reason for the lower rating. However - the Hot Pot was amazing. The service was pretty good, a bit lacking regarding water and drinks but very good for the food. Meat, fish and vegetables came very quickly after ordering and everything was very fresh. The price is very fair. We all had different types of broth and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. My partner loves spicy food, so he had the spicy broth and he was very happy with it. Overall I would recommend this place because the food was very good, just expect to wait around for your table a bit.

Place is super clean. Food was really good as well. The service was good and quick. My whole family loved it, specially to be our first experience in a restaurant like this.

Classic Chinese hot pot- great tastes and great experience ! $30 for hotpot and a drink :) Don't forget to make a reservation !

my cousins had planned a birthday dinner at the Manhattan location... I've visited the Flushing location, leaving with a stomach ache... the Flushing location is very dirty... my fingers are crossed that this location will be better!! (who am i fooling?!) as any restaurant would, we had to wait till our entire party arrived... we had a 7:30pm reservation.... I'm thankful that we had our private room!! though we were seated, and made our "all you can eat" buffet style hot pot... they were kind of SLOW!! how do you seat 8 people at a table with TWO GRILLS, and ONLY LIGHT ONE GRILL? we ordered 5 plates of grilled items... NOTE: EACH PARTY HAS A TWO HOUR LIMIT!!! again, how do you serve 5 plates of grilled items to 8 people, and grill on medium heat on ONE GRILL? i had to not ask, but tell them to light up the second grill... as for my free birthday cake, with an proof of ID... THEY GAVE ME ICE CREAM... BOTH LOCATIONS OFFER A "FREE BIRTHDAY CAKE", with proof of ID - FALSE! thankfully, i didn't get sick here. i wouldn't come back only because the plates of food were stacked on top of each other... why would you stack meat, chicken, seafood, etc ON TOP OF EACH OTHER?

I love this place! Came back already 5 times and every time they make me happy. Unlimited 2 hours all you can eat. Food is good, staff is professional, atmosphere fun. Amazing Korean bbq, you will have so much fun

Loved it...food was great...the kids were involved...I had a great time would definitely go again....only thing some of the wait staff could be better but over all great experience

Family of 3 went to Chinatown in search of good restaurants. Without a recommendation, we did not feel inspired by any, until we passed by this one. We kept walking without any luck and after asking a passerby who highly recommended it, we decided to go back. There was a 1 hour wait, but definitely worth! Food is delicious, fresh, and a steal in NY. Next time, we will make sure to have reservations!

Me and my partner came to 99 Favor Taste in Chinatown towards the end of our two week trip to NYC, after a week of splashing the cash at fancy restaurants throughout Manhattan, I admit I had my doubts about this place. Upon arrival we easily got a booth for two people without reservation and our waitress/chef Sukie quickly explained the order process and took our orders, dealing well with my comlpete confusion at how it works! Might I add although it was obvious that Sukie didn't speak fluent English (in a predominantly Chinese neighbourhood) she went out of her way to make us feel at home. All you can eat is right! We both ordered around 15 meat & seafood options between us along with veg options and as it was all cooked in front of us to our specification, Sukie quickly dealt with any queries/drinks orders. I recall a supervisor named Kelvin who provided additional help and also was great at his job, however there was another chef, name unknown who clearly pulled rank on the fantastic job Sukie was doing and proceeded to overcook the meat and serve out the food incorrectly. Although Sukie cooked everything to perfection, the pork with house sauce and beef with peppercorn sauce was a highlight. I have to say I wish we had more time for this place. I would go again in a heartbeat. We were both satisfied with everything, price = cheap, food = great and it is so authentic against many sub par oriental restauraunts in the district. I WILL BE BACK!

Yes : for great service! Yes: for great food! Yes: for great price! Definately a most go. Uncomplicated, comfotable and quick stay at the restaurant. Been in Beijing for one year, and it has definately a authentic flavour, even the sauces, which you can do by yourself. We have been there with four adults and two kids ( age: 2.5 and 1 year old). The workers were keeping up with the children, cause they got a little messy and all, and service did a great job! Definately will go there again!

I have no idea what the name means (I suspect a mistranslation), but the hot pot buffet was excellent. We had a nice choice of broths, then we chose pork and beef, AA vegetable, spinach (alas, out of watercress), quail eggs, mussels, and an assortment of dumplings. There were many more choices: lamb, duck, fish, mushrooms, tofu, etc. We had a side dish of excellent seafood pancake. A sauce bar had numerous choices. After cooking our various choices, we were left with an excellent broth, a fine ending, Chinese style, to a wonderful meal.

This place is pretty neat. BBQ and Hot pot. But, it's a lot of food. Just the hot pot kept us busy. I would return for the hot pot for sure next time, but maybe would skip the BBQ. Although the garlic shrimp and the meats were good, I think it's just too much. I love the selection of veggies and meats for the hot pot. All in All will be a regular stop for me when in NYC.

Clean place in Chinatown with large tables in multiple rooms. There was only the possibility of doing all you can eat. I tasted the hot pot which was good. I've tried better Chinese restaurants.

This place is great! 2 hours all you can eat either hot pot or korean BBQ. You have the option to select both, but in reality only pick one because it's an insane amount of food. The customer service wasn't the greatest when I was there, but at the end of the day they took care of us and the food was great. If you're going as a large group (more than 6) they'll likely try to put you at a table that is too small for your group. I went with a group of 10 and it took us a while to convince them to move us to a table large enough for all of us. Be persistent and hopefully they'll do the same for you. I highly suggest making a reservation in advance, especially if you're going at peak lunch or dinner hours. If not the wait can be long (since every table gets 2 hours).
Great service and amazing food
I was there with a friend having hotpot. The service was amazing, very attentive and helpful staff, we didn't have to wait long for anything, food came out really quickly, water always filled without us having to ask.
